Hybrid Pillow

Abstract

A hybrid pillow includes a first lateral portion, a medial portion, and a second lateral portion. The first lateral portion includes a first thickness. The medial portion is disposed adjacent to the first lateral section, the medial portion including a second thickness. The second lateral portion is disposed adjacent to the medial portion, and the medial portion is disposed between the first lateral portion and the second lateral portion. The second lateral portion includes a third thickness. The hybrid pillow includes one or more slots on a top of the hybrid pillow in the first lateral portion, the one or more slots extending only partially through the first thickness.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A hybrid pillow comprising:
 a first lateral portion comprising a first thickness;   a medial portion, disposed adjacent to the first lateral section, the medial portion comprising a second thickness;   a second lateral portion disposed adjacent to the medial portion, wherein the medial portion is disposed between the first lateral portion and the second lateral portion, the second lateral portion comprising a third thickness; and   one or more slots on a top of the hybrid pillow in the first lateral portion, the one or more slots extending only partially through the first thickness.   
     
     
         2 . The hybrid pillow of  claim 1 , wherein the first lateral portion comprises a uniform first thickness. 
     
     
         3 . The hybrid pillow of  claim 1 , wherein the second lateral portion comprises a uniform third thickness. 
     
     
         4 . The hybrid pillow of  claim 1 , wherein the medial portion comprises a non-uniform second thickness, wherein the non-uniform second thickness is less than the first thickness and the third thickness. 
     
     
         5 . The hybrid pillow of  claim 4 , wherein the non-uniform second thickness varies in thickness across a width of the medial portion and wherein the non-uniform thickness does not vary in thickness across a depth of the medial portion. 
     
     
         6 . The hybrid pillow of  claim 1 , wherein the first lateral portion comprises a first width and the second lateral portion comprises a second width, wherein the first width is greater than the second width. 
     
     
         7 . The hybrid pillow of  claim 1 , wherein the one or more slots extend throughout a length of the first lateral portion and a portion of the medial portion. 
     
     
         8 . The hybrid pillow of  claim 1 , further comprising one or more slots on the top of the hybrid pillow in the second lateral portion, the one or more slots in the second lateral portion extending only partially through the third thickness. 
     
     
         9 . The hybrid pillow of  claim 8 , wherein the one or more slots in the second lateral portion extend throughout a length of the second lateral portion and a portion of the medial portion. 
     
     
         10 . The hybrid pillow of  claim 9 , wherein the one or more slots in the first lateral portion and the one or more slots in the second lateral portion are aligned. 
     
     
         11 . A hybrid pillow comprising:
 a first lateral portion comprising a first thickness;   a medial portion, disposed adjacent to the first lateral section, the medial portion comprising a second thickness;   a second lateral portion disposed adjacent to the medial portion, wherein the medial portion is disposed between the first lateral portion and the second lateral portion, the second lateral portion comprising a third thickness;   one or more slots on a top of the hybrid pillow in the first lateral portion, the one or more slots extending only partially through the first thickness; and   one or more slots on the top of the hybrid pillow in the second lateral portion, the one or more slots extending only partially through the third thickness.   
     
     
         12 . The hybrid pillow of  claim 11 , wherein the first lateral portion comprises a uniform first thickness. 
     
     
         13 . The hybrid pillow of  claim 12 , wherein the second lateral portion comprises a uniform third thickness, wherein the uniform first thickness and the uniform second thickness are equal in thickness. 
     
     
         14 . The hybrid pillow of  claim 13 , wherein the medial portion comprises a non-uniform second thickness, wherein the non-uniform second thickness is less than the first thickness and the third thickness. 
     
     
         15 . The hybrid pillow of  claim 14 , wherein the non-uniform second thickness varies in thickness across a width of the medial portion and wherein the non-uniform thickness does not vary in thickness across a depth of the medial portion. 
     
     
         16 . The hybrid pillow of  claim 11 , wherein the first lateral portion comprises a first width and the second lateral portion comprises a second width, wherein the first width is greater than the second width such that the medial portion is not centered on the hybrid pillow. 
     
     
         17 . The hybrid pillow of  claim 11 , wherein the one or more slots extend throughout a length of the first lateral portion and a portion of the medial portion. 
     
     
         18 . The hybrid pillow of  claim 17 , wherein the one or more slots in the second lateral portion extend throughout a length of the second lateral portion and a portion of the medial portion. 
     
     
         19 . The hybrid pillow of  claim 18 , wherein the one or more slots in the first lateral portion and the one or more slots in the second lateral portion are aligned. 
     
     
         20 . The hybrid pillow of  claim 19 , wherein the medial portion comprises a flat medial portion and a first sloped section that provides an angled surface connecting the flat medial portion with the first lateral portion and a second sloped section that provides an angled second surface connecting the flat medial portion with the second lateral portion.
