Capturing and synchronizing data from multiple sensors
Abstract
Processes, methods, systems, and devices are disclosed for synchronizing multiple wireless data streams captured in action by various sensors, with lost data recovery. For example, a source device may have multiple sensors acquiring data and sending the data streams (e.g., via Bluetooth connections) to a target device. Timing information may be appended for each of the data streams. Data packets of the multiple data streams may be formed with the timing information. The data packets may be transmitted to a target device that is configured to synchronize the multiple data streams using the timing information. The target device, applying the example processes or techniques of this disclosure, may accurately synchronize the multiple data streams. In some cases, the target device may capture additional data streams and the processor synchronizes all data streams of both the source and the target devices.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A method comprising:
acquiring data streams using multiple sensors of a wearable device; forming data packets including the data streams; compressing at least one of the data streams or the data packets, wherein the data packets include timing information; and transmitting the data packets to a target device separate from the wearable device, wherein the timing information can be used to synchronize the data streams.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the compressing of the at least one of the data streams or the data packets includes compressing the data streams prior to forming the data packets.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the compressing of the at least one of the data streams or the data packets includes compressing the data packets after the data packets have been formed.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the transmitting of the data packets is performed in separate channels.
5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein each of the separate channels are associated with at least one sensor of the multiple sensors.
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the timing information includes timestamps for the data packets.
7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the timing information is based on time slots for the data packets.
8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the multiple sensors include one or more microphones.
9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the multiple sensors include at least one of an accelerometer, a gyroscope, a magnetometer, or an inertial measurement unit.
10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the data streams acquired from the multiple sensors include audio data.
11 . A wearable device comprising:
multiple sensors; at least one processor configured to
acquire data streams using the multiple sensors,
form data packets including the data streams,
compress at least one of the data streams or the data packets, wherein the data packets include timing information, and
transmit the data packets to a target device separate from the wearable device, wherein the timing information can be used to synchronize the data streams.
12 . The wearable device of claim 11 , wherein the compressing of the at least one of the data streams or the data packets includes compressing the data streams prior to forming the data packets.
13 . The wearable device of claim 11 , wherein the compressing of the at least one of the data streams or the data packets includes compressing the data packets after the data packets have been formed.
14 . The wearable device of claim 11 , wherein the transmitting of the data packets is performed in separate channels.
15 . The wearable device of claim 14 , wherein each of the separate channels are associated with at least one sensor of the multiple sensors.
16 . The wearable device of claim 11 , wherein the timing information includes timestamps for the data packets.
17 . The wearable device of claim 11 , wherein the timing information is based on time slots for the data packets.
18 . The wearable device of claim 11 , wherein the multiple sensors include one or more microphones.
19 . The wearable device of claim 11 , wherein the multiple sensors include at least one of an accelerometer, a gyroscope, a magnetometer, or an inertial measurement unit.
20 . The wearable device of claim 11 , wherein the data streams acquired from the multiple sensors include audio data.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
