Abstract

A method for determining a normalized weight of a non-static item is disclosed. Weight data associated with the non-static item is received from a plurality of load cells. A load cell weight for the non-static item is determined based at least in part on the weight data. The load cell weight for the non-static item is received as an input for a machine learning algorithm. The normalized weight for the non-static item is generated as an output for the machine learning algorithm.

Claims

1 .- 40 . (canceled)

41 . A smart mat system, the smart mat system comprising:
a mat; one or more sensors coupled to the mat, the one or more sensors configured to detect a user positioned on the substrate; a display device, wherein the display device is coupled to the mat, and wherein the display device is configured to present one or more indicia indicating one or more locations on the mat for a user; and a control system, wherein the control circuit is configured to:
determine the one or more locations on the mat for the user; and
cause the display device to present the one or more indicia at the one or more locations on the mat for the user.

42 . The smart mat of claim 41 , wherein the mat comprises multiple layers, wherein a middle layer of the mat includes the display device, and wherein the display device is visible through a top layer of the mat.

43 . The smart mat system of claim 41 , wherein the mat is configured to be one or more of rolled and folded.

44 . The smart mat of claim 41 , wherein the one or more sensors include one or more of pressure sensors and load sensors.

45 . The smart mat system of claim 41 , wherein the control system determines the one or more locations on the mat for the user based on a yoga pose.

46 . The smart mat system of claim 41 , wherein the indicia are one or more of shaped and light-coded to correspond to a portion of the user's body.

47 . The smart mat system of claim 46 , wherein the portion of the user's body is one or more of a hand, a foot, an arm, a leg, a back, and a head.

48 . The smart mat system of claim 47 , wherein the indicia guide the user for performing one or more of a pose and a movement.

49 . The smart mat system of claim 41 , wherein the control system is further configured to: receive, from the one or more sensors, sensor data; and
determine, based on the sensors data, one or more of a normalized weight and a posture of the user.

         50 . A method comprising:
determining, by a control system, one or more locations on a mat for a user; transmitting, by the control circuit to a display device of the mat, the one or more locations on the mat for the user; presenting, by the display device, indicia indicating the one or more locations on the mat for the user, wherein the indicia are presented on a surface of the mat.

51 . The method of claim 50 , wherein the one or more locations are locations for one or both of hands and feet of the user.

52 . The method of claim 50 , wherein the mat comprises multiple layers, wherein a middle layer of the mat includes the display device, and wherein the display device is visible through a top layer of the mat.

53 . The method of claim 50 , wherein the mat is configured to be one or more of rolled and folded.

54 . The method of claim 50 , further comprising:
detecting, by one or more sensors of the mat, the user on the mat; generating, by the one or more sensors, sensor data; and determining, by the control system based on the sensor data, one or more of a normalized weight and a posture of the user.

55 . The method of claim 54 , wherein the one or more sensors are located within the mat.

56 . The method of claim 50 , wherein the control system determines the one or more locations on the mat for the user based on a yoga pose.

57 . The method of claim 50 , wherein the indicia are one or more of shaped and light-coded to correspond to a portion of the user's body.

58 . The method of claim 57 , wherein the portion of the user's body is one or more of a hand, a foot, an arm, a leg, a back, and a head.

59 . The method of claim 50 , wherein the mat is a yoga mat.
