Abstract
Absorbent laminated materials that include two spunbond nonwoven layers with a cellulose layer arranged in between the spunbond nonwoven layers are disclosed. The different layers of the absorbent laminated material are bonded through an ultrasonic treatment, and can further undergo an embossing step. In addition, the absorbent laminated materials may be used as disposable wiping products, among other applications.

21 . An absorbent laminated material comprising:
a first spunbond nonwoven layer comprising a thermoplastic polymer; a second spunbond nonwoven layer comprising a thermoplastic polymer; and a cellulose layer,
the cellulose layer being free of bonding agents;
the cellulose layer arranged between and ultrasonically bonded to the first spunbond nonwoven layer and second spunbond nonwoven layer; and
wherein the cellulose layer comprises a basis weight of about 10 gsm or greater.
22 . The absorbent laminated material of claim 21 , wherein the cellulose layer has a thickness greater than 0.5 mm.
23 . The absorbent laminated material of claim 21 , wherein the cellulose layer has a basis weight of about 40 gsm or greater.
24 . The absorbent laminated material of claim 21 , wherein the cellulose layer is comprised of double re-creped (DRC) paper.
25 . The absorbent laminated material of claim 21 , wherein the thermoplastic polymer is comprised of a bicomponent fiber, tricomponent fiber, or a multicomponent fiber.
26 . The absorbent laminated material of claim 21 , wherein the absorbent laminated material comprises additives that are selected from: a skin conditioner, an emulsifier, a pH adjuster, a preservative, a cleaning agent, or combinations thereof.
27 . The absorbent laminated material of claim 21 , wherein the absorbent laminated material comprises a cross-direction wet tensile strength of about 500 grams to about 1500 grams.
28 . The absorbent laminated material of claim 21 , wherein the absorbent laminated material is a dry wipe.
29 . The absorbent laminated material of claim 21 , wherein the absorbent laminated material is a premoistened wipe.
30 . The absorbent laminated material of claim 29 , wherein the absorbent laminated material is premoistened with a solution selected from: water, alcohol, cleaning solutions, or combinations thereof.
31 . A disposable cleaning article comprising:
a first spunbond nonwoven layer comprising a thermoplastic polymer; a second spunbond nonwoven layer comprising a thermoplastic polymer; a cellulose layer;
wherein the cellulose layer is free of bonding agents;
wherein the cellulose layer is arranged between and ultrasonically bonded to the first spunbond nonwoven layer and second spunbond nonwoven layer;
wherein the cellulose layer comprises a basis weight between about 10 gsm and 80 gsm; and
wherein a cellulose layer weight is in a ratio of from 1:1 to 4:1 to a total weight of the first spunbond nonwoven layer and the second spunbond nonwoven layer.
32 . The disposable cleaning article of claim 31 , wherein the disposable cleaning article is a premoistened wipe.
33 . A method of making an absorbent laminated material, the method comprising:
providing a bottom spunbond nonwoven layer comprising a thermoplastic polymer on a bonding station; arranging a cellulose layer free of bonding agents that extends continuously along the surface of the bottom spunbond nonwoven layer; performing first ultrasonic treatment to bind the bottom spunbond nonwoven layer and the cellulose layer; arranging a top spunbond nonwoven layer along the continuous surface of the cellulose layer; performing a second ultrasonic treatment to bind the top spunbond nonwoven layer to the cellulose layer; and passing the arranged layers through an anvil,
wherein the anvil imparts a pattern on the absorbent laminated material.
34 . The method of making the absorbent laminated material of claim 33 , wherein the ultrasonic bonding is performed a rate from about 25 meters/minute to about 700 meters/minute.
35 . The method of making the absorbent laminated material of claim 33 , wherein the ultrasonic bonding is performed at a pressure of about 500 N to about 5000 N.
36 . The method of making the absorbent laminated material of claim 33 , the method further comprising:
producing the bottom spunbond nonwoven layer and top spunbond nonwoven layer as a spunbond web that includes a sheath and core arrangement,
wherein the core is comprised of polyester or polypropylene and the core is surrounded by a polyethylene sheath.
37 . The method of making the absorbent laminated material of claim 33 , wherein the absorbent laminated material is a dry wipe.
38 . The method of making the absorbent laminated material of claim 33 , the method further comprising:
premoistening the absorbent laminated material with a solution that is selected from a group comprising water, alcohol, cleaning solutions, or combinations thereof.
39 . The method of making the absorbent laminated material of claim 33 , the method further comprising:
consolidating the absorbent laminated material in a folded package or on a roll.
40 . The method of making the absorbent laminated material of claim 33 , the method further comprising:
