Rendering of Object Data Based on Recognition and/or Location Matching
Abstract
A system described herein uses data obtained from a wearable device of a first user to identify a second user and/or to determine that the first user is within a threshold distance of the second user. The system can then access an account of the second user to identify one or more items and retrieve model data for the item(s). The system causes the wearable device of the first user to render, for display in an immersive 3D environment (e.g., an augmented reality environment), an item associated with the account of the second user. The item can be rendered for display at a location on a display that is proximate to the second user (e.g., within a threshold distance of the second user) such that the item graphically corresponds to the second user. The item rendered for display may be an item of interest to the first user.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A system comprising:
one or more processors; and a memory in communication with the one or more processors, the memory having computer-readable instructions stored thereupon which, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to:
receive location data from a wearable device of a user;
determine, based on the location data, that the wearable device is within a threshold distance of a location of a source of an item, the item matching an item in which the user is currently interested; and
cause a rendering of the item to be displayed on a display device of the wearable device of the user, wherein the rendering of the item is caused to be displayed on the display device so that the rendering of the item graphically corresponds to the source of the item in a view of a real-world environment provided via the wearable device.
2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the source of the item comprises a physical structure where the item can be purchased.
3 . The system of claim 1 , wherein a graphical correspondence comprises at least one of:
a display device location that is within a threshold distance of the source of the item; or a graphical connector between the rendering of the item and the source of the item.
4 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the item in which the user is currently interested is determined based on a browsing history associated with an electronic commerce site or an item interest list associated with the electronic commerce site.
5 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the source of the item comprises an additional user and the item comprises an item the additional user is selling via an electronic commerce site.
6 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the source of the item comprises an additional user and the item comprises an item the additional user has recently purchased via an electronic commerce site.
7 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the source of the item comprises an additional user and the item comprises an item for which the additional user has provided a customer review.
8 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the location of the source of the item comprises a post mail address.
9 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the source of the item comprises an additional user and the location of the additional user is determined based on additional location data received from a device of the additional user.
10 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the computer-readable instructions further cause the one or more processors to cause information about the item to be displayed in association with the rendering of the item, the information comprising a price at which the item is listed for sale.
11 . A method comprising:
capturing, by a computing device, image data of a real-world environment in which the computing device is located for displaying augmented reality of the real-world environment; recognizing a physical structure in the real-world environment that is a source of an item of interest associated with an account, the physical structure recognized from the image data; and displaying, on a display of the computing device, the augmented reality of the real-world environment and an indication that associates the item of interest in the augmented reality to the physical structure.
12 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising recognizing the physical structure based on structure data that is determinable from the image data and that defines a geometry of the physical structure.
13 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the account is an e-commerce account associated with a merchant and the physical structure corresponds to the merchant.
14 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the physical structure is a brick-and-mortar retail store that sells the item and the account is a user account associated with the brick-and-mortar retail store.
15 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the physical structure is a home of a user of an e-commerce system and the account is associated with a different user of the e-commerce system.
16 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the indication is a model of the item.
17 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the indication includes a model of the item and a virtual connection between the item and the physical structure in the augmented reality.
18 . The method of claim 17 , wherein the virtual connection includes at least one of a line or an arrow.
19 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the indication is displayed proximate the physical structure in the augmented reality.
20 . A system comprising:
an optical device to capture image data of a real-world environment in which the optical device is located for displaying augmented reality of the real-world environment; a display device to display the augmented reality; one or more processors; and a memory storing computer readable instructions that are executable by the one or more processors to perform operations including:
recognizing a physical structure in the real-world environment that is a source of an item of interest associated with an account, the physical structure recognized from the image data; and
causing the display device to display an indication in the augmented reality that associates the item of interest with the physical structure in the augmented reality.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
