Abstract

A shampoo composition having from about 0.025% to about 0.25% histidine, by weight of the shampoo composition; from about 2% to about 50% of one or more detersive surfactants, by weight of the shampoo composition; and a gel matrix having from about 0.1% to about 20% of one or more fatty alcohols, by weight of the gel matrix; from about 0.1% to about 10% of one or more gel matrix surfactants, by weight of the gel matrix; and from about 20% to about 95% of an aqueous carrier, by weight of the gel matrix.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A shampoo composition comprising:
 a) about 0.025% to about 0.2% histidine, by weight of the shampoo composition; b) about 2% to about 50% of one or more detersive anionic surfactants, by weight of the shampoo composition; and c) a gel matrix comprising:
 i) about 0.1% to about 20% of one or more fatty alcohols, by weight of the gel matrix;
 ii) about 0.1% to about 10% of one or more gel matrix surfactants, by weight of the gel matrix; and
 iii) about 20% to about 95% of an aqueous carrier, by weight of the gel matrix;

 wherein the shampoo composition inhibits copper deposition on hair and facilitates the removal of copper deposited on hair.

         2 . The shampoo composition of claim 1 , wherein the fatty alcohol has 16 to 22 carbon atoms.

         3 . The shampoo composition of claim 1 , further comprising a cationic deposition polymer selected from the group consisting of polyquatemium-6, guar hydroxypropyltrimonium chloride, starch, polyquatemium-10, and combinations thereof.

         4 . The shampoo composition of claim 1 , further comprising one or more additional benefit agents selected from the group consisting of anti-dandruff agents, vitamins, chelants, perfumes, brighteners, enzymes, sensates, attractants, anti-bacterial agents, dyes, pigments, bleaches, and combinations thereof.

         5 . The shampoo composition of claim 4 , wherein the one or more additional benefit agents comprises an anti-dandruff agent selected from the group consisting of pyridinethione salts, azoles, selenium sulfide, sulfer, piroctone olamine, and combinations thereof.

         6 . The shampoo composition of claim 1 , further comprising a silicone conditioning agent.

         7 . The shampoo composition of claim 1 , further comprising citric acid.

         8 . The shampoo composition of claim 1 , wherein the shampoo composition has a pH of from about 5.25 to about 7.

         9 . The shampoo composition of claim 1 , wherein the aqueous carrier is water.

         10 . The shampoo composition of claim 1 , further comprising an amphoteric cosurfactant.

         11 . A method of inhibiting copper deposition on hair and facilitating the removal of copper deposited on hair comprising:
 a) applying to the hair the shampoo composition of claim 1 ; and b) rinsing the shampoo composition from the hair.
