Producing a recording from sound source data based on a sound profile
Abstract
A computer-based method for modifying a sound source. The method includes: accessing, by an acoustic processing facility including at least one processor, a multi-dimensional sound signature of an acoustic environment, wherein the multi-dimensional sound signature comprises a time-based sound reflection sequence for the acoustic environment; and receiving sound source data from a sound input device in a recording space. The method further includes modifying, by the acoustic processing facility, the sound source data based at least in part on the multi-dimensional sound signature to generate a modified sound source data; and recording the modified sound source data on a sound recording device.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A computer-based method for modifying a sound source, the method comprising:
accessing, by an acoustic processing facility including at least one processor, a multi-dimensional sound signature of an acoustic environment, wherein the multi-dimensional sound signature comprises a time-based sound reflection sequence for the acoustic environment; receiving sound source data from a sound input device in a recording space; modifying, by the acoustic processing facility, the sound source data based at least in part on the multi-dimensional sound signature to generate a modified sound source data; and recording the modified sound source data on a sound recording device.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein modifying the sound source data is such that a person listening to the recorded modified sound source data experiences the modified sound source data as if the person was listening to the sound source data in the acoustic environment.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the sound input device is a microphone.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the recording space is an audio recording studio.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the recording space is a sound stage.
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein modifying the sound source data is part of a post-production editing process.
7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the time-based sound reflection sequence includes at least one of: amplitude; frequency; or quality.
8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the multi-dimensional sound signature comprises a combination of a plurality of different sound dimensions including at least one of: timing; direction; amplitude; or frequency of sound reflections.
9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the time-based sound reflection sequence comprises primary and secondary reflections.
10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the multi-dimensional sound signature is accessed from a database including a plurality of multi-dimensional sound signatures.
11 . A system comprising:
an acoustic processing facility comprising at least one processor and at least one memory device that stores an application that adapts the at least one processor to:
access a multi-dimensional sound signature of an acoustic environment, wherein the multi-dimensional sound signature comprises a time-based sound reflection sequence for the acoustic environment;
receive a sound source data from a sound input device in a recording space;
modify the sound source data based at least in part on the multi-dimensional sound signature to generate a modified sound source data; and
record the modified sound source data on a sound recording device.
12 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the sound input device is a microphone.
13 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the recording space is an audio recording studio.
14 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the recording space a sound stage.
15 . The system of claim 11 , wherein modifying the sound source data is part of a post-production editing process.
16 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the time-based sound reflection sequence includes at least one of: of amplitude; frequency; or quality.
17 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the multi-dimensional sound signature comprises a combination of a plurality of different sound dimensions including at least one of: timing; direction; amplitude; or frequency of sound reflections.
18 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the time-based sound reflection sequence comprises primary and secondary reflections.
19 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions that adapt at least one processor to:
access a multi-dimensional sound signature of an acoustic environment, wherein the multi-dimensional sound signature comprises a time-based sound reflection sequence for the acoustic environment; receive a sound source data from a sound input device in a recording space; modify the sound source data based at least in part on the multi-dimensional sound signature to generate a modified sound source data; and record the modified sound source data on a sound recording device.
20 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 19 , wherein the multi-dimensional sound signature comprises a combination of a plurality of different sound dimensions including at least one of: timing; direction; amplitude; or frequency of sound reflections.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
