Abstract
The disclosure relates to a drug delivery device including: a housing configured to contain a drug container with a needle, a needle shroud that is telescopically connected to the housing, and a cap that is configured to be releasably connected to the housing before use of the device. At least one of the cap and the needle shroud is adapted to unreleasably lock the cap onto the housing after reapplying the cap onto the housing after the drug delivery device is used.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 15 . (canceled)
16 . A drug delivery device comprising:
a housing configured to contain a drug container with a needle; a needle shroud that is telescopically arranged with the housing; and a cap that is configured to be releasably connected to the housing before use of the drug delivery device, wherein at least one of the cap and the needle shroud is configured such that when an attempt is made to re-apply the cap onto the housing after use of the drug delivery device, the cap does not release a post-use shroud lock.
17 . The drug delivery device of claim 16 , wherein at least one of the cap and the needle shroud is configured to prevent at least a complete recapping of the cap onto the housing after use of the drug delivery device.
18 . The drug delivery device of claim 16 , wherein at least one of the cap and the needle shroud is configured to prevent a non-releasable locking of the cap to the housing when the attempt is made to re-apply the cap onto the housing after use of the drug delivery device.
19 . The drug delivery device of claim 16 , wherein when the attempt is made to re-apply the cap onto the housing after use of the drug delivery device, the cap is configured to abut the needle shroud without releasing the post-use shroud lock.
20 . The drug delivery device of claim 16 , wherein the cap comprises one or more arms extending in a proximal direction.
21 . The drug delivery device of claim 20 , wherein the one or more arms are configured to prevent at least a complete recapping of the cap onto the housing after use of drug delivery device,
and/or wherein the one or more arms are configured to prevent a non-releasable locking of the cap to the housing when the attempt is made to re-apply the cap onto the housing after use of the drug delivery device.
22 . The drug delivery device of claim 20 , wherein the one or more arms are configured to abut the needle shroud when the attempt is made to re-apply the cap onto the housing after the use of the drug delivery device.
23 . The drug delivery device of claim 16 , wherein a distal end of the needle shroud comprises an inner wall reinforcement projecting radially inwards.
24 . The drug delivery device of claim 16 , wherein the needle shroud comprises one or more shroud beams arranged on a shroud body, wherein the one or more shroud beams are biased radially outwards from the shroud body.
25 . The drug delivery device of claim 24 , wherein the one or more shroud beams have a locking tab protruding outward.
26 . The drug delivery device of claim 25 , wherein the post-use shroud lock comprises the locking tab that abuts a housing ramp proximally when the post-use shroud lock is engaged.
27 . The drug delivery device of claim 25 , wherein the cap is configured such that a proximal cap end is distally spaced from the locking tab after attempting to re-apply the cap onto the housing after use of the drug delivery device.
28 . The drug delivery device of claim 25 , wherein after use of the drug delivery device, the needle shroud is configured to limitedly move in a distal direction until the one or more shroud beams flex outwards and abut a respective stop distally formed on a housing ramp of the housing.
29 . The drug delivery device of claim 16 , wherein in a pre-use state of the drug delivery device, the needle shroud is in an extended position, wherein in the extended position the needle shroud extends beyond the needle of the drug container.
30 . The drug delivery device of claim 16 , wherein the needle shroud is held in position during assembly of the drug delivery device by a projection.
31 . The drug delivery device of claim 30 , wherein the projection is arranged proximally on the needle shroud protruding inwards.
32 . The drug delivery device of claim 30 , wherein the projection distally abuts a stop formed on a locking pin of a syringe carrier.
33 . The drug delivery device of claim 16 , wherein in a pre-use state of the drug delivery device, the needle shroud is locked by a pre-use shroud lock.
34 . The drug delivery device of claim 33 , wherein the pre-use shroud lock is configured to lock the needle shroud relative to the housing of the drug delivery device.
35 . The drug delivery device of claim 16 , wherein the drug container is prefilled with a drug.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
