Abstract
An on-body drug delivery device having a housing carried by a substrate. The device includes an adhesive module placed over at least a portion of said device to provide added securement of the device to the patient's body.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . An on-body drug delivery device comprising:
a) a housing comprising a cover and a bottom all; b) a substrate comprising a sheet of flexible material having a top surface and a bottom surface, wherein said housing is carried by said substrate and said bottom surface includes an adhesive applied thereto; and c) an adhesive module disposed over at least a portion of said substrate and said housing, said adhesive module consisting of a stretchable film and including an adhesive bottom surface, said module being configured in a shape selected from the group consisting of a cross, an oval, a rectangle and a diamond.
2 . The on-body drug delivery device of claim 1 wherein said substrate includes a dimension that is larger than a dimension of said housing bottom wall, said substrate including an outer edge defining a perimeter around said housing.
2 . body drug delivery device of claim 2 wherein said adhesive module comprises a film having a top surface and a bottom surface, and an adhesive applied to said bottom surface of said film.
4 . The on-body drug delivery device of claim 3 wherein said film covers at least a portion of said housing and said substrate perimeter.
5 . The on-body drug delivery device of claim 3 wherein said film completely covers said housing and said substrate perimeter.
6 . The on-body drug delivery device of claim 3 wherein said film extends beyond the perimeter of said substrate.
7 . The on-body drug delivery device of claim 1 wherein said adhesive module is secured to said housing.
8 . The on-body drug delivery device of claim 7 wherein said adhesive module is press-fit onto said housing.
9 . The on-body drug delivery device of claim 3 wherein said film is made of a material polymeric material selected from the group consisting of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polypropylene, polycarbonate and polystyrene, polyethylene, polyurethanes, polyamides, polyesters, ethylene vinyl acetate, natural or synthetic polyisoprene, polybutadiene, polychloroprene, silicone, nitrile rubbers, nylon, olefin.
10 . The on-body drug delivery device of claim 1 wherein said adhesive module comprises a layer of film having a bottom surface and a layer of a second adhesive applied to said film bottom layer.
11 . The on-body drug delivery device of claim 10 wherein said second adhesive is selected from the group consisting of acrylic or acrylate compositions, synthetic rubber, hydrocolloid, silicone.
12 . The on-body drug delivery device of claim 1 wherein said adhesive module adheres to at least a portion of said device and to the skin of a patient.
13 . The on-body drug delivery device of claim 1 said adhesive module being configured in a shape of a cross including end tab portions and side tab portions extending from a central portion.
14 . The on-body drug delivery device of claim 13 wherein said adhesive module comprises a cross-shaped, stretchable film wherein said central portion of said adhesive module is adhered to said housing.
15 . The on-body injector of claim 1 wherein said adhesive bottom surface of said adhesive module comprises a first adhesive on one region of said bottom surface and a different adhesive on another region of said bottom surface.
16 . The on-body drug delivery device of claim 1 wherein said adhesive module includes an adhesive on only a portion of said module bottom surface.
17 . The on-body drug delivery device of claim 1 , configured to deliver a drug comprising pegfilgrastim.
18 . The on-body drug delivery device of claim 1 wherein said adhesive module comprises multiple pieces.
19 . The on-body drug delivery device of claim 18 wherein said adhesive module comprises multiple strips.
20 . An on-body drug delivery device comprising:
a) a housing comprising a cover and a bottom wall; b) a substrate comprising a sheet of flexible material having a top surface and a bottom surface, wherein said housing is carried by said substrate and said bottom surface includes an adhesive applied thereto; and c) an adhesive module disposed over at least a portion of said substrate and said housing, said adhesive module comprising a one-piece, cross-shaped, stretchable film and including an adhesive bottom surface.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
