Claims

Abstract

An air purifier system includes at least one air purifier and a portable user interface device. The user interface device for positioning at a remote location from the at least one air purifier and wirelessly communicated to a controller of at least one of the air purifiers. The user interface device includes a sensor configured to measure an air quality parameter in an area proximate the user interface device for transmission of the air quality parameter to the controller of the at least one of the air purifiers via wireless communication; and a user interface comprising (a) a display for displaying data including at least air quality data from the sensor and (b) a user input control for the user to change one or more functional parameters of the at least one of the air purifiers via the wireless communication.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . An air purifier system comprising:
 at least one air purifier comprising:
 an air purification mechanism received in a housing, the housing providing an airflow path between an air inlet configured to receive ambient air and an air outlet configured to deliver purified air, 
 the air purifier mechanism including an air purifying sub-system, a fan and a drive mechanism, wherein the air purifying sub-system is disposed in the airflow path between the air inlet and the air outlet and is configured to remove contaminants present in the ambient air passing through the housing, wherein the drive mechanism is configured to drive the fan to move the air through the airflow path between the air inlet and the air outlet; and 
 a controller for controlling the drive mechanism based on receiving an air quality parameter; and 
   a portable user interface device for positioning at a remote location from the at least one air purifier and wirelessly communicated to the controller of at least one of the air purifiers, the user interface device comprising:
 a sensor configured to measure an air quality parameter in an area proximate the user interface device for transmission of the air quality parameter to the controller of the at least one of the air purifiers via the wireless communication; and 
 a user interface comprising (a) a display for displaying data including at least air quality data from the sensor and (b) a user input control for the user to change one or more functional parameters of the at least one of the air purifiers via the wireless communication. 
   
     
     
         2 . The air purifier system according to  claim 1 , wherein the at least one air purifier and the user interface device are also configured for the user interface device to be removably mounted to the at least one air purifier system. 
     
     
         3 . The air purifier system according to  claim 2 , wherein the user interface device includes a rechargeable power supply. 
     
     
         4 . The air purifier system according to  claim 3 , wherein the user interface device and the at least one air purifier system are configured such that the rechargeable power supply is charged when the user interface device is attached to the at least one air purifying system. 
     
     
         5 . The air purifier system according to  claim 1 , wherein the wireless communication between the user interface device and the at least one air purifier is either direct or indirect. 
     
     
         6 . The air purifier system according to  claim 1 , wherein the system comprises a plurality of said air purifiers and the portable user interface device is wirelessly communicated to the controller of each of the air purifiers for transmission of the air quality parameter to the controller of each of the air purifiers via the wireless communication, and
 wherein the user input control is configured for the user to change the one or more functional parameters of each of the air purifiers via the wireless communication.   
     
     
         7 . The air purifying system according to  claim 1 , wherein the sensor is a particle sensor.
