Abstract

In one embodiment, systems and techniques include receiving, by a transaction server and from an electronic device of a first user, a transaction request for a transaction between the first user and a second user. The transaction request includes an amount to be withdrawn from or deposited into a financial account of the second user and identifying information for the second user. The identifying information includes information from a form of identification provided at the electronic device. The techniques include identifying, via a mapping database associated with the transaction server, the financial account of the second user and a financial account of the first user. The techniques include adjusting, via the mapping database, respective monetary balances of the financial accounts based at least in part on the amount of the transaction. The techniques include transmitting, to at least one electronic device associated with the transaction, a confirmation message.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the form of identification comprises a payment mechanism associated with the financial account of the second user.

3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the form of identification comprises a quick response (QR) code generated by an electronic device of the second user.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the form of identification comprises a quick response (QR) code provided to an electronic device of the second user.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the electronic device of the first user receives the identifying information by scanning the form of identification.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the form of identification comprises an application executing on an electronic device of the second user.

7 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the electronic device of the first user receives the identifying information through wireless communication with the electronic device of the second user.

8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first user is a merchant and wherein the electronic device of the first user is a merchant point-of-sale (POS) system.

9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first user has conducted a plurality of transactions with one or more second users through the transaction server, and wherein adjusting the monetary balance of the financial account of the first user based at least in part on the amount of the transaction comprises modifying a bulk transaction amount owed to the financial account of the first user based on the amount of the transaction, wherein the bulk transaction amount is based at least in part on respective amounts associated with the plurality of transactions.

10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the at least one electronic device associated with the transaction comprises an electronic device of the second user and wherein the electronic device of the second user is any one of a smart phone, a tablet, a portable media device, a wearable device, or a portable computer.

11 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising creating, by the transaction server and in the mapping database associated with the transaction server, the financial account of the second user based on the identifying information for the second user, wherein the mapping database automatically and remotely links the identifying information for the second user with the financial account of the second user.

12 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the transaction request is associated with a deposit, and wherein adjusting the respective monetary balances of the financial account of the first user and the financial account of the second user includes decreasing the monetary balance of the financial account of the first user by the amount of the transaction and increasing the monetary balance of the financial account of the second user by the amount of the transaction.

13 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the transaction request is associated with a withdrawal, and wherein adjusting the respective monetary balances of the financial account of the first user and the financial account of the second user includes increasing the monetary balance of the financial account of the first user by an amount of the transaction, and decreasing the monetary balance of the financial account of the second user by the amount of the transaction.

14 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the respective monetary balances of the financial account of the first user and the financial account of the second user are held in a fund holding account of a fund holding entity that is one of a bank or a credit union,
wherein the fund holding account is holding funds of a plurality of financial accounts, and wherein at least one of the plurality of financial accounts is the financial account of the first user and at least one of the plurality of financial accounts is the financial account of the second user.

         15 . A transaction server comprising:
one or more processors; and one or more computer-readable non-transitory storage media in communication with the one or more processors and comprising instructions, that when executed by the one or more processors, are configured to cause the transaction server to perform operations comprising: receiving, from an electronic device of a first user, a transaction request associated with a transaction between the first user and a second user, wherein the transaction request includes an amount to be withdrawn from or deposited into a financial account of the second user and associated with the transaction server and identifying information for the second user, wherein the identifying information includes information received from a form of identification provided at the POS system; identifying, via a mapping database associated with the transaction server and based at least in part on the identifying information included in the transaction request, the financial account of the second user and a financial account of the first user; adjusting, via the mapping database, respective monetary balances of the financial account of the first user and the financial account of the second user based at least in part on the amount of the transaction; and transmitting, to at least one electronic device associated with the transaction, a confirmation message confirming the adjustment based on the transaction.
