Abstract
Systems and methods are described for a media guidance application (e.g., implemented on a user device) that allows users to select any arbitrary position in a virtual reality environment from where to view the virtual reality content and changes a user’s perspective based on the selected position.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 51 . (canceled)
52 . A computer-implemented method comprising:
receiving a request from a first user to access a video-based media asset; providing the video-based media asset to the first user; receiving a live video feed of the first user reacting to the video-based media asset; receiving a request from a second user to access the video-based media asset; and generating for simultaneous display to the second user the video-based media asset and the live video feed of the first user reacting to the video-based media asset.
53 . The method of claim 52 , further comprising:
receiving a live video feed of a third user reacting to the video-based media asset; and generating for simultaneous display to the second user, with the video-based media asset and the live video feed of the first user reacting to the video-based media asset, the live video feed of the third user reacting to the video-based media asset.
54 . The method of claim 53 , wherein at least one of a user profile of the first user or a user profile of the third user is related to a user profile of the second user.
55 . The method of claim 52 , further comprising:
receiving input to transmit a message from the second user to the first user; and outputting the message while the video-based media asset and the live video feed of the first user are being simultaneously generated for display.
56 . The method of claim 52 , wherein generating for simultaneous display to the second user the video-based media asset and the live video feed of the first user reacting to the video-based media asset comprises overlaying the live video feed on a portion of the video-based media asset.
57 . The method of claim 52 , wherein the video-based media asset is a video game.
58 . The method of claim 52 , wherein the video-based media asset is a movie, a television show, or a sporting event.
59 . The method of claim 52 , further comprising:
generating for simultaneous display to the second user, with the video-based media asset and the live video feed of the first user reacting to the video-based media asset, a title of the video-based media asset.
60 . The method of claim 52 , further comprising:
generating for simultaneous display to the second user, with the video-based media asset and the live video feed of the first user reacting to the video-based media asset, a user name of a user profile of the first user.
61 . The method of claim 52 , wherein the video-based media asset is a virtual reality media asset.
62 . A computer-implemented system comprising:
memory; control circuitry configured to:
receive a request from a first user to access a video-based media asset, wherein a user profile of the first user is stored in the memory;
provide the video-based media asset to the first user;
receive a live video feed of the first user reacting to the video-based media asset;
receive a request from a second user to access the video-based media asset; and
generate for simultaneous display to the second user the video-based media asset and the live video feed of the first user reacting to the video-based media asset.
63 . The system of claim 62 , wherein the control circuitry is further configured to:
receive a live video feed of a third user reacting to the video-based media asset; and generate for simultaneous display to the second user, with the video-based media asset and the live video feed of the first user reacting to the video-based media asset, the live video feed of the third user reacting to the video-based media asset.
64 . The system of claim 63 , wherein at least one of the user profile of the first user or a user profile of the third user is related to a user profile of the second user.
65 . The system of claim 62 , wherein the control circuitry is further configured to:
receive input to transmit a message from the second user to the first user; and output the message while the video-based media asset and the live video feed of the first user are being simultaneously generated for display.
66 . The system of claim 62 , wherein the control circuitry is configured to generate for simultaneous display to the second user the video-based media asset and the live video feed of the first user reacting to the video-based media asset by overlaying the live video feed on a portion of the video-based media asset.
67 . The system of claim 62 , wherein the video-based media asset is a video game.
68 . The system of claim 62 , wherein the video-based media asset is a movie, a television show, or a sporting event.
69 . The system of claim 62 , wherein the control circuitry is further configured to:
generate for simultaneous display to the second user, with the video-based media asset and the live video feed of the first user reacting to the video-based media asset, a title of the video-based media asset.
70 . The system of claim 62 , wherein the control circuitry is further configured to:
generate for simultaneous display to the second user, with the video-based media asset and the live video feed of the first user reacting to the video-based media asset, a user name of a user profile of the first user.
71 . The system of claim 62 , wherein the video-based media asset is a virtual reality media asset.Cited by (0)
