Systems and methods for reshaping a heart valve
Abstract
The present disclosure includes a device for reshaping a heart valve. The device may include a central ring about a central axis and a plurality of arms coupled to the central ring, each of the arms coupled to the central ring at a pivot point at a first end of the arm, the arm comprising an attachment feature at a second point along the arm, the pivot point configured to allow movement of the arm about the pivot point through a plane extending radially from the central axis through the arm. Additionally, the plurality of arms may be contractable and may be extendable such that the hooks extend beyond a dilated heart valve. The present disclosure also includes associated methods and systems.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A method of reshaping cardiac tissue, said method comprising:
axially and rotationally controlling movement of an implantable device having tissue-engaging members configured for engagement with cardiac tissue; reshaping the cardiac tissue with the implantable device; and engaging an annular member with the implantable device to maintain the reshaped configuration of the cardiac tissue.
2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising engaging the tissue-engaging members on the implantable device with the cardiac tissue and moving the implantable device to reshape the cardiac tissue.
3 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising moving the annular member axially with respect to the implantable device to engage the annular member with the implantable device.
4 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising reshaping annular cardiac tissue.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein said method comprises moving the implantable device with respect to cardiac tissue to reshape the cardiac tissue.
6 . The method of claim 3 , further comprising moving the implantable device with a control handle.
7 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising moving the annular member toward the cardiac tissue engaged by the implantable device.
8 . The method of claim 7 , further comprising moving the annular member axially toward the cardiac tissue engaged by the implantable device.
9 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising axially and rotationally moving the implantable device with respect to cardiac tissue.
10 . A method of reshaping cardiac tissue, said method comprising:
axially and rotationally controlling movement of an implantable device having tissue-engaging members configured for engagement with cardiac tissue; and reshaping the cardiac tissue with the implantable device engaged with cardiac tissue.
11 . The method of claim 10 , further comprising engaging an annular member with the implantable device to maintain the reshaped configuration of the cardiac tissue.
12 . The method of claim 10 , further comprising reshaping annular cardiac tissue with the implantable device.
13 . The method of claim 10 , further comprising engaging a securing member with respect to the implantable device to maintain the configuration of the reshaped cardiac tissue.
14 . The method of claim 10 , further axially and rotationally moving the implantable device with respect to cardiac tissue.
15 . The method of claim 10 , further comprising engaging tissue-engaging features of the implantable device with cardiac tissue and then moving the implantable device to reshape the cardiac tissue.
16 . A method of reshaping cardiac tissue with an implantable device, said method comprising:
engaging the implantable device with cardiac tissue; reshaping the cardiac tissue with the implantable device engaged with the cardiac tissue; and axially advancing a member of the implantable device to maintain the reshaped configuration of the cardiac tissue.
17 . The method of claim 16 , further comprising engaging tissue-engaging features of the implantable device with cardiac tissue and then moving the implantable device to reshape the cardiac tissue.
18 . The method of claim 17 , wherein axially advancing a member of the implantable device comprises axially advancing a member of the implantable device towards the tissue-engaging features.
19 . The method of claim 16 , further comprising reshaping annular cardiac tissue.
20 . The method of claim 16 , further comprising moving the implantable device with respect to the cardiac tissue to reshape the configuration of the cardiac tissue.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
