Abstract

Systems may provide feedback that may include antenna selection or mobile device configuration. Antennas may be automatically configured throughout the device or the orientation or location of the mobile device may be altered to increase performance. Historical performance information of the mobile device may be maintained in order to determine proactive manipulations of the mobile device. In addition, multiple mobile devices may cooperatively determine the orientation or location that may increase performance.

Claims

What is claimed:

         1 . A method comprising:
receiving, by a processing system including a processor, information associated with a first mobile device, wherein the information associated with the first mobile device comprises at least one of positioning information of the first mobile device or sensor information related to sensors in the first mobile device; based on the information, determining, by the processing system, a configuration of the first mobile device in order to reach threshold performance, resulting in a determined configuration; and providing, by the processing system, instructions to implement the determined configuration, wherein the instructions comprise a selection of an antenna configuration.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the selection results in a selected antenna configuration, wherein the selected antenna configuration comprises a reorientation of the antenna.

3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the reorientation of the antenna is performed automatically in accordance with the instructions.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the determining the configuration is based on historical performance data of the first mobile device and a second mobile device.

5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the determined configuration is based at least in part on a heat map based on the historical performance data.

6 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the determining the configuration is based on a machine learning algorithm that uses the historical performance data.

7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the instructions comprise a message on a graphical user interface, a sound, a haptic feedback, or a combination thereof.

8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the instructions are provided in response to a trigger based on a location of the first mobile device, a length of time since a previous determination, performance of the first mobile device, a type of application executing on the first mobile device, or a combination thereof.

9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the determining is based on a location of the first mobile device in relation to a base station.

         10 . A device comprising:
a processing system including a processor; and a memory that stores executable instructions that, when executed by the processing system, facilitate performance of operations comprising: receiving information associated with a first device including an antenna, wherein the information associated with the first device comprises at least one of positioning information of the first device or sensor information related to sensors in the first device; based on the information, determining a configuration of the first device in order to reach threshold performance, resulting in a determined configuration; and providing instructions to implement the determined configuration, wherein the instructions comprise a selection of an antenna configuration for the antenna.

11 . The device of claim 10 , wherein the selection results in a selected antenna configuration, wherein the selected antenna configuration comprises a reorientation of the antenna.

12 . The device of claim 11 , wherein the reorientation of the antenna is performed automatically in accordance with the instructions.

13 . The device of claim 10 , wherein the determining the configuration is based on historical performance data of the first device and a second device.

14 . The device of claim 13 , wherein the determining the configuration is based on a machine learning algorithm that uses the historical performance data.

15 . The device of claim 10 , wherein the instructions are provided in response to a trigger based on a location of the first device, a length of time since a previous determination, performance of the first device, a type of application executing on the first device, or a combination thereof.

16 . A non-transitory machine-readable medium comprising executable instructions that, when executed by a processing system including a processor, facilitate performance of operations comprising:
receiving information associated with a first mobile device, wherein the information associated with the first mobile device comprises at least one of positioning information of the first mobile device or sensor information related to sensors in the first mobile device; based on the information, determining a configuration of the first mobile device in order to reach threshold performance, resulting in a determined configuration; and providing instructions to implement the determined configuration, wherein the instructions comprise a selection of an antenna configuration for at least one antenna of the first mobile device.

17 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 16 , wherein the selection results in a selected antenna configuration, wherein the selected antenna configuration comprises a reorientation of the antenna.

18 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 16 , wherein the determining the configuration is based on historical performance data of the first mobile device and a second mobile device.

19 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 18 , wherein the determining the configuration is based on a machine learning algorithm that uses the historical performance data.

20 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 16 , wherein the instructions are provided in response to a trigger based on a location of the first mobile device, a length of time since a previous determination, performance of the first mobile device, a type of application executing on the first mobile device, or a combination thereof.
