Abstract

A method of treating preventing, minimizing, and/or reversing congestive heart failure, cardiomyopathy, and/or reduction of cardiac ejection fraction in a subject in need thereof includes administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of a 15-PGDH inhibitor.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 - 26 . (canceled)

27 : A method of treating cardiotoxicity in a subject in need thereof, the method comprising: administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of a 15-PGDH inhibitor.

28 : The method of claim 27 , wherein the cardiotoxicity includes a reduction of cardiac ejection fraction of at least about 10% and the 15-PGDH inhibitor is administered to the subject at an amount effective to increase cardiac ejection fraction by at least 10%.

29 : The method of claim 28 , wherein the subject has or is at risk of hypertension.

30 : The method of claim 27 , wherein the cardiotoxicity is induced by treatment of the subject with a cardiotoxic agent.

31 : The method of claim 30 , wherein the cardiotoxic agent is a chemotherapeutic.

32 : The method of claim 30 , wherein the cardiotoxic agent is selected from doxorubicin, epirubicin, daunorubicin, idarubicin, valrubicin, pirarubicin, amrubicin, aclarubicin, zorubicin, an anti-ErB2 or an anti-HER2 antibody.

33 : A method of treating a cardiomyopathy and/or a reduction of cardiac ejection fraction resulting from hypertension or cardiotoxicity in a subject in need thereof, the method comprising: administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of a 15-PGDH inhibitor.

34 : The method of claim 33 , wherein the cardiomyopathy and/or reduction of cardiac ejection fraction is induced by treatment of the subject with a cardiotoxic agent.

35 : The method of claim 34 , wherein the cardiotoxic agent is a chemotherapeutic.

36 : The method of claim 35 , wherein the cardiotoxic agent is selected from doxorubicin, epirubicin, daunorubicin, idarubicin, valrubicin, pirarubicin, amrubicin, aclarubicin, zorubicin, an anti-ErB2 or an anti-HER2 antibody.

37 : The method of claim 33 , wherein the subject has or is at risk of hypertension.
