Dynamic content delivery search system
Abstract
The present disclosure relates to a dynamic content delivery search system that can reduce one or more time lags between a user entering a search string and selecting the “enter” key to obtain search results. In example embodiments, a first keyword of a search string can be received by a search engine prior to a search query for the search string being executed. The search string comprises a plurality of keywords, which include at least the first keyword and a second keyword. During receipt of at least the portion of the second keyword and prior to executing the search query for the search string, the second keyword can be used to remove one or more results from a first set of search results identified for the first keyword received, wherein the one or more results that are removed do not match the second keyword.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A method comprising:
receiving a first keyword of a search string prior to executing a search query for the search string, wherein the search string comprises a plurality of keywords including at least the first keyword and a second keyword; identifying a first set of search results matching the first keyword prior to executing the search query for the search string; providing a first image that corresponds to a first result in the first set of search results, wherein the first image is part of a first product listing; prior to executing the search query for the search string, receiving at least a portion of the second keyword of the search string; during receipt of at least the portion of the second keyword and prior to executing the search query for the search string, using at least the portion of the second keyword to remove one or more results from the first set of search results that do not match at least the portion of the second keyword to produce a second set of search results; and during receipt of at least the portion of the second keyword, providing a second image that corresponds to a second result in the second set of search results, wherein the second image is part of a second product listing.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first product listing corresponds to a first item and the second product listing corresponds to a second item, and wherein the first item and the second item are available items on a network-based marketplace.
3 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising providing a plurality of images that correspond to the second set of search results, wherein the plurality of images are provided around a search bar for receiving the plurality of keywords of the search string.
4 . The method of claim 3 , further comprising:
receiving a selection of one of the plurality of images provided around the search bar; appending a keyword associated with a category level to the first keyword and at least the portion of the second keyword in the search bar based on the selection of the one of the plurality of images; and based on the keyword appended, removing one or more results from the second set of search results that do not match the keyword appended to produce a third set of search results.
5 . The method of claim 3 , wherein the first image and the second image are provided without receiving, at the search bar, an entry of an enter key.
6 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising providing a tag for display on a user interface that indicates that the second image corresponds to a category.
7 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
providing a video that corresponds to the second result in the second set of search results during receipt of at least the portion of the second keyword; and repositioning a search bar that receives the plurality of keywords of the search string, wherein the search bar is repositioned to display the video.
8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first image is provided based at least in part on detecting an entry of a space after receiving the first keyword of the search string and prior to executing the search query for the search string.
9 . A system comprising:
a processor; and a storage medium storing instructions, that when executed by the processor, cause the system to perform operations comprising:
receiving a first keyword of a search string prior to executing a search query for the search string, wherein the search string comprises a plurality of keywords including at least the first keyword and a second keyword;
based on receiving the first keyword, performing a search for a first set of search results matching the first keyword prior to executing the search query for the search string;
causing presentation of at least a portion of the first set of search results prior to executing the search query for the search string;
receiving at least a portion of the second keyword of the search string prior to executing the search query for the search string;
during receipt of at least the portion of the second keyword and prior to executing the search query for the search string, using at least the portion of the second keyword to remove one or more results from the first set of search results that do not match at least the portion of the second keyword to produce a second set of search results; and
during receipt of at least the portion of the second keyword, causing presentation of at least a portion of the second set of search results.
10 . The system of claim 9 , wherein at least the portion of the second set of search results caused to be presented includes an image associated with both an item and an item listing, and wherein the operations further comprise causing presentation of a tag on a user interface that indicates that the image caused to be presented corresponds to a sub-category.
11 . The system of claim 9 , wherein at least the portion of the first set of search results caused to be presented includes a plurality of images, wherein each image of the plurality of images is part of a product listing.
12 . The system of claim 9 , the operations further comprising:
receiving a selection of one of the second set of search results caused to be presented; appending a keyword associated with a category level to the first keyword and at least the portion of the second keyword based on the selection of the one of the second set of search results; and based on the keyword appended, removing one or more results from the second set of search results that do not match the keyword appended to produce a third set of search results.
13 . The system of claim 12 , the operations further comprising causing presentation of at least a portion of the third set of search results.
14 . The system of claim 9 , the operations further comprising causing presentation of a search result page having a previous level, corresponding to the first set of search results, appended to a current level corresponding to the second set of search results.
15 . The system of claim 14 , wherein the previous level is a category level and the current level is a sub-category level, and wherein at least the portion of the second set of search results are caused to be presented based on the previous level and the current level.
16 . The system of claim 9 , wherein at least the portion of the first set of search results is caused to be presented based at least in part on detecting an entry of a space after receiving the first keyword of the search string and prior to executing the search query for the search string.
17 . A hardware storage device storing instructions that, when executed by a processor, cause operations to be performed, the operations comprising:
receiving a first keyword of a search string prior to executing a search query for the search string, wherein the search string comprises a plurality of keywords including at least the first keyword and a second keyword; prior to executing the search query for the search string, receiving at least a portion of the second keyword of the search string; during receipt of at least the portion of the second keyword and prior to executing the search query for the search string, using the second keyword to remove one or more results from a first set of search results identified for the first keyword, wherein the one or more results that are removed do not match the second keyword; and during receipt of at least the portion of the second keyword and prior to executing the search query for the search string, causing presentation of an image that corresponds to a second set of search results identified based on removing the one or more results from the first set of search results.
18 . The hardware storage device of claim 17 , wherein the operations further comprise:
causing presentation of a plurality of images of the second set of search results; receiving a selection of one of the plurality of images of the second set of search results; and appending a keyword, associated with a category level, to the first keyword and at least the portion of the second keyword based on the selection of the one of the plurality of images.
19 . The hardware storage device of claim 18 , wherein the operations further comprise:
based on the keyword appended, removing one or more results from the second set of search results that do not match the keyword appended to produce a third set of search results; and causing presentation of a plurality of images of the third set of search results.
20 . The hardware storage device of claim 17 , wherein the image is caused to be presented without receiving an entry of an enter key at a search bar.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
