Systems and methods for use in providing payment transaction notifications
Abstract
Systems and methods are provided for use in distributing payment transaction notifications. One example computer-implemented method includes identifying, by a computing device, transaction data for a transaction associated with a child token and identifying, in a token data structure, a parent token, which is different than the child token and which is associated with the child token. The computer-implemented method also includes determining that the parent token is enrolled for notifications and then, based on determining that the parent token is enrolled for notifications, transmitting, by the computing device, a notification to a communication device associated with the parent token, the notification indicative of the transaction and including at least a portion of the transaction data.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A computer-implemented method for providing one or more notifications associated with a parent token based on one or more transactions involving a child token, the method comprising:
identifying, by a computing device, transaction data for a transaction associated with a child token; identifying, by the computing device, in a token data structure, a parent token, which is different than the child token and which is associated with the child token; determining the parent token is enrolled for notifications; and based on determining that the parent token is enrolled for notifications, transmitting, by the computing device, a notification to a communication device associated with the parent token, the notification indicative of the transaction and including at least a portion of the transaction data.
2 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising determining whether the transaction data satisfies at least one notification rule in the token data structure; and
wherein transmitting the notification is further based on determining that the transaction data satisfies the at least one notification rule.
3 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising:
compiling, by the computing device, the notification based on at least one notification rule in the token data structure and associated with the parent token, the at least one notification rule defining content of the notification and/or a method of delivery of the notification; wherein transmitting the notification includes transmitting the compiled notification consistent with the at least one notification rule.
4 . The computer-implemented method of claim 3 , wherein the at least one notification rule includes a transaction amount threshold; and
wherein the method further comprises determining a transaction amount in the transaction data, for the transaction, exceeds the transaction amount threshold, prior to transmitting the notification.
5 . The computer-implemented method of claim 3 , wherein the at least one notification rule includes an interval spend threshold; and
wherein the method further comprising determining that an aggregate amount for multiple transactions, which includes said transaction, exceeds the interval spend threshold, prior to transmitting the notification.
6 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the notification includes at least one of an email message, an SMS message, and a voicemail message.
7 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the notification includes a web-based application message.
8 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the notification includes a name associated with the child token; and
wherein the at least a portion of the transaction data includes a transaction amount for the transaction and a transaction location associated with the transaction.
9 . The computer-implemented method of claim 8 , wherein the at least a portion of the transaction data further includes a transaction category for the transaction.
10 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein transmitting a notification includes transmitting a transaction notification to the communication device based on identifying said transaction and the transaction data, the transaction notification being specific to said identified transaction.
11 . A non-transitory computer readable storage media including computer executable instructions for providing one or more notifications, which when executed by at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to:
identify transaction data for a transaction associated with a child token; identify, in a token data structure, a parent token, which is different than the child token and associated with the child token; determine the parent token is enrolled for notifications; and based on determining that the parent token is enrolled for notifications, transmit a notification to a communication device associated with the parent token, the notification indicative of the transaction and including at least a portion of the transaction data.
12 . The non-transitory computer readable storage media of claim 11 , wherein the computer executable instructions, when executed by at least one processor, further cause the at least one processor to:
determine whether the transaction data satisfies at least one notification rule in the token data structure; and transmit the notification further based on determination that the transaction data satisfies the at least one notification rule.
13 . The non-transitory computer readable storage media of claim 11 , wherein the computer executable instructions, when executed by at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to:
compile the notification based on at least one notification rule in the token data structure and associated with the parent token, the at least one notification rule defining content of the notification and/or a method of delivery of the notification; and wherein the notification includes the compiled notification consistent with the at least one notification rule.
14 . The non-transitory computer readable storage media of claim 13 , wherein the at least one notification rule includes a transaction amount threshold; and
wherein the computer executable instructions, when executed by at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to determine a transaction amount in the transaction data, for the transaction, exceeds the transaction amount threshold, prior to transmitting the notification.
15 . The non-transitory computer readable storage media of claim 13 , wherein the at least one notification rule includes an interval spend threshold; and
wherein the computer executable instructions, when executed by at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to determine an aggregate amount for multiple transactions, which include said transaction, exceeds the interval spend threshold, prior to transmitting the notification.
16 . The non-transitory computer readable storage media of claim 11 , wherein the notification includes at least one of an email message, an SMS message, and a voicemail message.
17 . The non-transitory computer readable storage media of claim 11 , wherein the notification includes a web-based application message.
18 . The non-transitory computer readable storage media of claim 11 , wherein the notification includes at least one of a name associated with the child token; and
wherein the at least a portion of the transaction data includes a transaction amount for the transaction and a transaction location associated with the transaction.
19 . The non-transitory computer readable storage media of claim 18 , wherein the at least a portion of the transaction data further includes a transaction category for the transaction.
20 . The non-transitory computer readable storage media of claim 11 , wherein the notification includes a transaction notification, which is specific to said identified transaction.Cited by (0)
