System and method for affiliate link generation
Abstract
A method and system is provided for facilitating affiliate link generation. A user enables the system by identifying a webpage on an affiliate web site. The system performs an initial assessment of page to extract webpage information, which is compared to information stored in a database. If the extracted information matches stored information, a record of the webpage is displayed and an affiliate link is dynamically generated for immediate use. If the extracted information does not match stored information, a new record of the webpage is created. If the webpage contains product-specific data, a product-specific record is stored. If the webpage does not contain product-specific data, a non-product record is stored. An affiliate link is then dynamically created. The new record of the product and dynamically created affiliate link is added to the database for immediate use.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 20 . (canceled)
21 . A system including a server comprising a processor coupled to a database including a plurality of records associated with product webpages, the server configured to:
receive, from a user computing device associated with a user, a request for a custom link to a webpage identifying a product; extract information associated with the product from the webpage; query the database for the extracted webpage information stored within a record of the plurality of records; based on the query, determine whether a matching record is available in the database; and in response to determining that the matching record is unavailable, create a new database record with a dynamically created affiliate link or, in response to determining that the matching record is available, display the matching record.
22 . The system of claim 21 , wherein receiving the request includes receiving the request upon a user selection when the user is visiting the webpage.
23 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the server is further configured to format the dynamically created affiliate link to be compatible with one or more social media platforms selected by the user.
24 . The system of claim 21 , the new database record including metadata associated with the extracted product information.
25 . The system of claim 21 , wherein one or more of the plurality of records includes at least one of a product description, a product price, or a product image based on product data received from one or more external product sources.
26 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the request is received upon a system activator bookmark being selected at the user computing device when the user is visiting the webpage.
27 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the server is further configured to transmit, to the user computing device for display thereon, an estimated commission associated with the product identified on the webpage.
28 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the server is further configured to prompt the user to confirm creation of the dynamically created affiliate link.
29 . A computer-implemented method using a server coupled to a database including a plurality of records associated with product webpages, the method comprising:
receiving, from a user computing device associated with a user, a request for a custom link to a webpage identifying a product; extracting information associated with the product from the webpage; querying the database for the extracted webpage information stored within a record of the plurality of records; based on the query, determining whether a matching record is available in the database; and in response to determining that the matching record is unavailable, creating a new database record with a dynamically created affiliate link or, in response to determining that the matching record is available, displaying the matching record.
30 . The computer-implemented method of claim 29 , wherein receiving the request includes receiving the request upon a user selection when the user is visiting the webpage.
31 . The computer-implemented method of claim 29 , further comprising formatting the dynamically created affiliate link to be compatible with one or more social media platforms selected by the user.
32 . The computer-implemented method of claim 29 , the new database record including metadata associated with the extracted product information.
33 . The computer-implemented method of claim 29 , wherein one or more of the plurality of records includes at least one of a product description, a product price, or a product image based on product data received from one or more external product sources.
34 . The computer-implemented method of claim 29 , wherein the request is received upon a system activator bookmark being selected at the user computing device when the user is visiting the webpage.
35 . The computer-implemented method of claim 29 , further comprising transmitting, to the user computing device for display thereon, an estimated commission associated with the product identified on the webpage.
36 . The computer-implemented method of claim 29 , further comprising prompting the user to confirm creation of the dynamically created affiliate link.
37 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing computer-executable instructions which, when executed by a server coupled to a database, the database including a plurality of records associated with product webpages, cause the server to perform operations comprising:
receiving, from a user computing device associated with a user, a request for a custom link to a webpage identifying a product; extracting information associated with the product from the webpage; querying the database for the extracted webpage information stored within a record of the plurality of records; based on the query, determining whether a matching record is available in the database; and in response to determining that the matching record is unavailable, creating a new database record with a dynamically created affiliate link or, in response to determining that the matching record is available, displaying the matching record.
38 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 37 , wherein the operations further comprise transmitting, to the user computing device for display thereon, an estimated commission associated with the product identified on the webpage.
39 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 37 , wherein one or more of the plurality of records includes at least one of a product description, a product price, or a product image based on product data received from one or more external product sources.
40 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 37 , wherein receiving the request includes receiving the request upon a user selection when the user is visiting the webpage.Cited by (0)
