Abstract

A description is therefore provided of technologies enhancing interoperability of devices located in a proximity from each other, with the goal of improving service performance and security. Interoperability between a wearable device on user's hand and a door or a mobile phone results in improved security as well as convenience of use. Interoperability between mobile devices and nearby devices belonging to different users, able to provide local computational power, results in lowering of bandwidth requirements for data transfer, by means of performing computations on the data being collected locally, as opposed to it being done on a remote server.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 - 20 . (canceled)

         21 . A wearable ring device comprising:
a computer processor housed in a wearable ring; wherein the wearable ring is sized for receipt therein of a first finger of a user; a touchscreen electrically connected to the computer processor and disposed at least partially at an outer surface of the ring, wherein the touchscreen is configured to receive input from a second finger of the user; a wireless transmitter and receiver electrically connected to the computer processor and configured to communicate with at least one external electronic device; and a rechargeable power source for supplying power to the touchscreen, wireless transmitter and receiver, and computer processor.

22 . The device of claim 21 , further comprising a biometric sensor for sensing biometric information of the user.

23 . The device of claim 21 , further comprising a near-field-communication (NFC) tag for transmitting data related to the user lo the external electronic device to thereby change a state of the external electronic device.

24 . The device of claim 21 , further composing a molecular analyser for collecting data on caloric intake.

25 . The device of claim 21 , further comprising at feast one button for receiving input from the user.

26 . The device of claim 21 , further comprising a wireless power receiver circuit for recharging the power source from a wireless power source.

27 . The device of claim 21 , further comprising a sensor for sensing a writing motion of the user, wherein the wireless transceiver transmits information to at least one external electronic device related to characters written by the user.

28 . The device of claim 21 , further comprising an actuator for controlling zoom on another electronic device, wherein the other electronic device is AR (augmented reality) smart glasses

29 . The device of claim 26 , wherein the zoom is used to regulate text and image size seen by the user of the smart glasses when wearing the glasses.

30 . A method for controlling a remote electronic device using a touchscreen on a smart ring on a finger, the method comprising:
receiving, on a touchscreen electrically connected to a computer processor and disposed at east partially at an outer peripheral surface of the ring disposed on a first finger of a user, input from a second finger of the user; selecting, using the computer processor, one of a plurality of touch events associated with the input; and wirelessly transmitting a command associated with the touch event to at least one external electronic device.

31 . The method of claim 30 , wherein selecting the one of the plurality or touch events comprises recognizing a gesture made by the user that is associated with the command.

32 . The method of claim 30 , further composing establishing a wireless link with at least one external electronic device In response to a gesture by the user.

33 . The method of claim 30 , further comprising changing a state of the external electronic device by bringing a near-field communication (NFC) device electrically connected to the computer processor into proximity therewith.

34 . The method of claim 30 , further comprising transmitting information to the external electronic device by bringing a near-field communication (NFC) device electrically connected to the computer processor into proximity therewith.

35 . The method of claim 30 , wherein the smart ring is controlling volume on another electronic device.

36 . The method of claim 30 , wherein the smart ring is controlling remote mouse functions in an application running on another electronic device and wherein the other electronic device is an AR (augmented reality) smart glasses headset.

37 . The method of claim 30 , wherein the smart ring is controlling zoom on another electronic device and the other electronic device is an AR (augmented reality) smart glasses headset.

38 . The method of claim 30 , wherein the smart ring is controlling taking and ending calls on another electronic device and the other electronic device is a smart glasses headset.

39 . The method of claim 30 , wherein the smart ring is controlling, at least in part, scrolling on another electronic device and the other electronic device is a smart glasses headset.

40 . The method of claim 30 , wherein the smart ring is controlling capturing picture and video on another electronic device and the other electronic device Is an AR (augmented reality) smart glasses headset in any application running on the headset.
