Abstract
A modular seat and method of assembling the same are provided. The modular seat includes a first seating component having one or more seating component attachment apertures. The modular seat also includes a first arm component having a first arm component shelf support configured to be received by one of the seating component attachment apertures. The modular seat may include one or more other components, such as attachment members, additional seating components, back support components, and/or additional arm components. A corresponding method of assembling a modular seat is also provided.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 20 . (canceled)
21 . A modular seating unit comprising:
an attachment member configured to connect two adjacent seating components, wherein bottoms of the two adjacent seating components define a common plane and the attachment member is configured to mount at least partially recessed above the plane in an instance in which the two adjacent seating components are disposed in operational position.
22 . The modular seating unit of claim 21 , wherein the attachment member is configured to be at least partially recessed within the two adjacent seating components in an instance in which the two adjacent seating components are disposed in operational position.
23 . The modular seating unit of claim 22 , wherein each seating component defines a seating component attachment aperture configured to receive at least a portion of the attachment member.
24 . The modular seating unit of claim 23 , wherein the attachment member is at least partially recessed within the corresponding seating component attachment apertures defined by the two adjacent seating components.
25 . The modular seating unit of claim 21 , further comprising a plurality of legs.
26 . The modular seating unit of claim 25 , wherein the attachment member is configured to receive one or more legs.
27 . The modular seating unit of claim 25 , wherein at least one leg of the plurality of legs is attached to the attachment member, and wherein the at least one leg is configured to extend beneath the plane in an instance in which the two adjacent seating components are disposed in operational position.
28 . The modular seating unit of claim 21 , wherein the attachment member defines at least one component attachment point configured to receive a base attachment mechanism.
29 . The modular seating unit of claim 28 , wherein the base attachment mechanism is configured to insert vertically into the attachment member and at least one of the two adjacent seating components to attach the attachment member and the at least one of the two adjacent seating components.
30 . The modular seating unit of claim 29 , wherein the base attachment mechanism defines a threaded fastener.
31 . The modular seating unit of claim 21 , further comprising a second attachment member coupling a third seating component together with a first of the two adjacent seating components, wherein the first and third seating components each define a second seating component attachment aperture configured to receive at least a portion of the second attachment member.
32 . The modular seating unit of claim 31 , wherein the second attachment member is at least partially recessed within the corresponding second seating component attachment apertures defined by the first and third seating components.Cited by (0)
