Abstract

A re-usable writing surface reusably and removably coupled to exterior surfaces is disclosed. The re-usable writing surface may include a porous layer. The porous layer may define one or more cells. The re-usable writing surface may further include a non-adhesive coating applied to a side of the porous layer. The re-usable writing surface may further include a writable layer coupled to a different side of the porous layer. The writable layer may be configured to allow a user to draft and erase content. The non-adhesive coating can enable the re-useable writing surface to reusably and removably couple to exterior surfaces.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . A re-useable and repositionable writing surface kit comprising:
a flexible closed-cell foam layer having a first surface, a second surface opposite the first surface comprising a plurality of airtight microscopic cavernous cells, and a first shape; a backing film removably interconnected to the second surface of the foam layer; an adhesive layer having a first shape; and a writeable layer having a first surface, a second surface opposite the first surface, and a first shape; wherein the first surface of the writeable layer is adhered to the first surface of the foam layer by the adhesive layer; wherein a subset of the plurality of airtight microscopic cavernous cells are adapted to reusably couple the writing surface to an existing surface by microsuction; wherein and the second surface of the writable layer comprises a dry erase or wet erase surface; and wherein the first shapes of each of the writable layer, adhesive layer, and foam layer are coextensive.

2 . The re-useable and repositionable writing surface kit of claim 1 , wherein the combined thickness of the foam layer, adhesive layer, and writable layer is at least 1 millimeter.

3 . The re-useable and repositionable writing surface kit of claim 1 , wherein the combined thickness of the foam layer, adhesive layer, and writable layer is greater than 1 millimeter.

4 . The re-useable and repositionable writing surface kit of claim 1 , wherein the closed-cell comprises closed-cell polyvinyl chloride, vinyl foam, acrylic, or PVC foam.

5 . The re-useable and repositionable writing surface kit of claim 1 , wherein the existing surface comprises woods, metals, or walls.

6 . The re-useable and repositionable writing surface kit of claim 1 , wherein the re-useable writing surface is elastically deformable.

7 . The re-useable and repositionable writing surface kit of claim 1 , wherein the backing film comprises one of wax-coated paper, silicone coated paper, calendared kraft paper, glassine, clay coated kraft paper, machine finished kraft paper, or machine glazed paper.

8 . The re-useable and repositionable writing surface kit of claim 1 , wherein the first shape comprises one of an arrow, a human figure, a geometric shape, or a custom shape.

9 . The re-useable and repositionable writing surface kit of claim 8 , wherein the first shape is a square or rectangle.

10 . The re-useable and repositionable writing surface kit of claim 8 , wherein the first shape is a rectangle having a ratio of 4:3, 16:9, or 2:1.

11 . The re-useable and repositionable writing surface kit of claim 1 , wherein the writable layer comprises PET, polyethylene, polyurethane, or polyester.

12 . The re-useable and repositionable writing surface kit of claim 1 , wherein the adhesive layer comprises a solvent synthetic resin adhesive, cyanoacrylate adhesive, acrylic adhesive, anaerobic adhesive, silicone adhesive, or urethane adhesive.

13 . The re-useable and repositionable writing surface kit of claim 1 , wherein the first shapes of the writable layer, adhesive layer, and foam layer are die-cut.

14 . The re-useable and repositionable writing surface kit of claim 1 , wherein the writing surface is adapted to be reusably coupled to an existing surface by microsuction after being washed with water.

15 . The re-useable and repositionable writing surface kit of claim 1 , wherein the foam layer has density of about 9.0 pounds per cubic foot.

16 . The re-useable and repositionable writing surface kit of claim 1 , wherein the foam layer has a tensile strength of about 50 pounds per square inch.

17 . The re-useable and repositionable writing surface kit of claim 1 , wherein the foam layer is capable of about 250% elongation.
