Abstract

An icon receptacle is disposed along a depth aspect, and one or more icons are disposed within the icon receptacle, one of which is a stack item.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A method comprising:
 at an electronic device that is in communication with a display generation component and one or more input devices:   displaying, via the display generation component, a window at a first location in a three-dimensional environment over a virtual background;   detecting, via the one or more input devices, a first input directed to the window; and   in response to detecting the first input directed to the window, moving the window in the three-dimensional environment to a second location in the three-dimensional environment that does not overlap with the virtual background.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the virtual background is a two-dimensional desktop environment. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the virtual background includes visual content. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising displaying a configuration menu including user-manipulable affordances for configurating presentation characteristics of the virtual background. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the first input directed to the window includes an input dragging the window from the first location to the second location. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the virtual background is displayed at a first depth, the first location is at the first depth, and the second location is at a second depth different than the first depth. 
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising, while the window is at the second location, displaying a shadow of the window on the virtual background. 
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 receiving a second input directed to the window; and   in response to detecting the second input directed to the window, moving the window in the three-dimensional environment to the first location over the virtual background.   
     
     
         9 . A device comprising:
 a display device;   a processing device coupled to the display device to:
 display, via the display device, a window at a first location in a three-dimensional environment over a virtual background; 
 detect, via the one or more input devices, a first input directed to the window; and 
 in response to detecting the first input directed to the window, move the window in the three-dimensional environment to a second location in the three-dimensional environment that does not overlap with the virtual background. 
   
     
     
         10 . The device of  claim 9 , wherein the virtual background is a two-dimensional desktop environment. 
     
     
         11 . The device of  claim 9 , wherein the virtual background includes visual content. 
     
     
         12 . The device of  claim 9 , further comprising displaying a configuration menu including user-manipulable affordances for configurating presentation characteristics of the virtual background. 
     
     
         13 . The device of  claim 9 , wherein the first input directed to the window includes an input dragging the window from the first location to the second location. 
     
     
         14 . The device of  claim 9 , wherein the virtual background is displayed at a first depth, the first location is at the first depth, and the second location is at a second depth different than the first depth. 
     
     
         15 . The device of  claim 9 , wherein the processing device is further to, while the window is at the second location, display a shadow of the window on the virtual background. 
     
     
         16 . The device of  claim 9 , wherein the processing device is further to:
 receive a second input directed to the window; and   in response to detecting the second input directed to the window, move the window in the three-dimensional environment to the first location over the virtual background.   
     
     
         17 . A non-transitory memory having instruction encoded thereon which, when executed by a processing device of a device including a display device causes the device to:
 display, via the display device, a window at a first location in a three-dimensional environment over a virtual background;   detect, via the one or more input devices, a first input directed to the window; and   in response to detecting the first input directed to the window, move the window in the three-dimensional environment to a second location in the three-dimensional environment that does not overlap with the virtual background.   
     
     
         18 . The non-transitory memory of  claim 17 , wherein the virtual background is a two-dimensional desktop environment. 
     
     
         19 . The non-transitory memory of  claim 17 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the device to display a configuration menu including user-manipulable affordances for configurating presentation characteristics of the virtual background. 
     
     
         20 . The non-transitory memory of  claim 17 , wherein the virtual background is displayed at a first depth, the first location is at the first depth, and the second location is at a second depth different than the first depth.
