Systems and methods for enabling and monitoring content creation while consuming a live video
Abstract
Systems and methods for enabling and rewarding collaborative content creation are described. The method comprises, playing back live video provided by an over-the-top (OTT) provider to a user, receiving, from the user, a command to crop and modify a portion of the video comprising a subject, generating user-generated content based on the command, publishing the user-generated content to a plurality of users, determining whether the user-generated content is republished a threshold number of times during a republication period, and in response to determining that the user-generated content is republished the threshold number of times during the republication period, unlocking access to content from the OTT provider for the user that relates to the subject.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 51 . (canceled)
52 . A method comprising:
receiving, from a user device, a selection of a portion of a first video for sharing; identifying textual data received from the user device to be added to the portion of the first video that was selected for sharing; identifying, based on metadata of the first video, a second video related to the first video; analyzing the textual data to identify a connotation indicator; and in response to determining that the connotation indicator is positive, modifying a profile associated with the user device to indicate affinity for the second video.
53 . The method of claim 52 , wherein the modifying the profile to indicate affinity for the second video comprises increasing a strength of association between the profile and the second video.
54 . The method of claim 52 , wherein the connotation indicator comprises one or more phrases from the textual data, and wherein determining that the connotation indicator is positive comprises determining that the one or more phrases are indicative of a positive connotation.
55 . The method of claim 52 , further comprising generating, for the portion of the first video, metadata indicative of a subject related to the portion.
56 . The method of claim 55 , wherein the second video is identified based on the metadata indicative of the subject.
57 . The method of claim 52 , wherein the metadata of the first video comprises metadata corresponding to the portion of the first video.
58 . The method of claim 52 , wherein the portion comprises a video clip cropped from the first video.
59 . The method of claim 52 , further comprising sharing the portion and the textual data added to the portion via one or more social platforms.
60 . The method of claim 59 , wherein the user device is a first user device, the method further comprising:
in response to receiving a selection of the shared portion from a second user device, providing a second user device with a copy of the first video, wherein the copy of the first video comprises a position indicator corresponding to a starting position for the portion in the copy of the first video.
61 . The method of claim 59 , wherein the shared portion is a first shared portion, the method further comprising:
identifying a second shared portion; comparing the first shared portion and the second shared portion; calculating, based on the comparing, a level of similarity between the first shared portion and the second shared portion; and determining whether the level of similarity exceeds a threshold.
62 . The method of claim 52 , wherein the first video is a streaming video provided by a content provider.
63 . A system comprising:
communications circuitry configured to:
receive, from a user device, a selection of a portion of a first video for sharing; and control circuitry configured to:
identify textual data received from the user device to be added to the portion of the first video that was selected for sharing;
identify, based on metadata of the first video, a second video related to the first video;
analyze the textual data to identify a connotation indicator; and
in response to determining that the connotation indicator is positive, modify a profile associated with the user device to indicate affinity for the second video.
64 . The system of claim 63 , wherein the control circuitry, when modifying the profile to indicate affinity for the second video, is configured to increase a strength of association between the profile and the second video.
65 . The system of claim 63 , wherein the connotation indicator comprises one or more phrases from the textual data, and wherein the control circuitry, when determining that the connotation indicator is positive, is configured to determine that the one or more phrases are indicative of a positive connotation.
66 . The system of claim 63 , wherein the control circuitry is further configured to generate, for the portion of the first video, metadata indicative of a subject related to the portion.
67 . The system of claim 63 , wherein the metadata of the first video comprises metadata corresponding to the portion of the first video.
68 . The system of claim 63 , wherein the portion comprises a video clip cropped from the first video.
69 . The system of claim 63 , wherein the control circuitry is further configured to share the portion and the textual data added to the portion via one or more social platforms.
70 . The system of claim 69 , wherein the user device is a first user device, and wherein the control circuitry is further configured to:
in response to receiving, via the communications circuitry, a selection of the shared portion from a second user device, provide a second user device with a copy of the first video, wherein the copy of the first video comprises a position indicator corresponding to a starting position for the portion in the copy of the first video.
71 . The system of claim 63 , wherein the first video is a streaming video provided by a content provider.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
