Abstract
A non-crystallizing blend includes cannabidiol (CBD) and cannabidiolic acid (CBDA). A method of forming a non-crystallizing blend of CBD and CBDA includes obtaining a CBD isolate including at least 80% by weight CBD, obtaining a CBDA isolate including at least 80% by weight CBDA, and combining and mixing the CBD isolate and the CBDA. A method of treating a condition includes administering a therapeutically effective amount of a non-crystallizing blend of CBD and CBDA to a patient in need thereof.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A cartridge for a vaporizing device comprising:
a sealable container; and a vaporizable, liquid blend contained within the container; wherein the blend comprises cannabidiol (CBD) and cannabidiolic acid (CBDA) and inevitable impurities; and wherein the blend does not form crystals measuring greater than 100 microns for at least 24 hours at 25° C.
2 . The cartridge according to claim 1 , wherein the CBD is present in an amount of 50% by weight to 95% by weight, based on a total weight of the blend.
3 . The cartridge according to claim 2 , wherein the CBDA is present in an amount of 5% by weight to 40% by weight, based on a total weight of the blend.
4 . The cartridge according to claim 1 , wherein the blend consists of the CBD and the CBDA and less than 0.1 wt % impurities.
5 . The cartridge according to claim 1 , wherein the CBD and CBDA account for at least 65% by weight, based on a total weight of the blend.
6 . The cartridge according to claim 5 , wherein, based on a total weight of the blend, the CBD accounts for at least 50% by weight and the CBDA accounts for at least 5% by weight.
7 . The cartridge according to claim 1 , wherein the blend does not crystallize within a temperature range of 0° C. to 50° C.
8 . The cartridge according to claim 1 , wherein the container is sealed.
9 . The cartridge according to claim 8 , wherein the container is sealed under pressure.
10 . A vaporizer comprising the cartridge of claim 1 .
11 . A method comprising:
providing a blend comprising cannabidiol (CBD) and cannabidiolic acid (CBDA) and inevitable impurities, wherein the blend does not form crystals measuring greater than 100 microns for at least 24 hours at 25° C.; and heating the blend to a temperature sufficient to decarboxylate at least a portion of the CBDA into CBD; wherein, after heating, the blend comprises a higher concentration of CBD and a lower concentration of CBDA as compared to before heating.
12 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising ingesting the blend after heating.
13 . The method of claim 11 , wherein heating comprises vaporizing the blend and the method further comprises inhaling the vaporized blend.
14 . The method of claim 11 , wherein heating completely decarboxylates the CBDA.
15 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the blend consists of the CBD and the CBDA and less than 0.1 wt % impurities.
16 . The method of claim 15 , wherein the blend consists of 60 wt % to 95 wt % CBD and 5 wt % to 40 wt % CBDA.
17 . The method of claim 16 , wherein heating comprises vaporizing the blend and the vaporized blend consists of 94.68 wt % to 99.435 wt % CBD and a balance of CO 2 .Cited by (0)
