Abstract

In a communications system including a base station capable of altering a frequency bandwidth which is used for transmitting broadcast data for providing point-to-multipoint broadcasting communications service and which is used for transmitting individual communications data for providing point-to-point individual communications service, and a mobile terminal capable of altering a receivable bandwidth which is used for receiving at least the broadcast data and the individual communications data transmitted from the base station, decision processing of making a decision as to whether the mobile terminal can receive reception-desired content it desires to receive among contents provided by the broadcasting communications service is executed in accordance with a frequency occupying bandwidth used for transmitting the reception-desired content. Thus, the mobile terminal becomes able to make a decision as to whether it can receive particular E-MBMS content considering its own UE position.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A communication method of performing radio communication between a mobile terminal and a base station, the communication method comprising:
 transmitting, in discontinuous manner in time for a plurality of times, data of a multimedia broadcast multicast service (MBMS); and   transmitting, in discontinuous manner in time for a plurality of times, information used for call reception processing;   transmitting, in discontinuous manner in time, synchronization signals,   wherein, the data of the MBMS and the information used for call reception processing are transmitted at different timing, and   the data of the MBMS and the synchronization signals are transmitted at different timing.   
     
     
         2 . A mobile communication system including a mobile terminal and a base station performing radio communication between the mobile terminal,
 the base station comprising:
 an MBMS transmitting unit transmitting, in discontinuous manner for a plurality of times, data of a multimedia broadcast multicast service (MBMS); and 
 a call reception information transmitting unit transmitting, in discontinuous manner in time for a plurality of times, information used for call reception processing; 
 a synchronous signal transmitting unit transmitting, in discontinuous manner in time, synchronization signals, 
   wherein, the data of the MBMS and the information used for call reception processing are transmitted at different timing by the MBMS transmitting unit and the call reception information transmitting unit, and   the data of the MBMS and the synchronization signals are transmitted at different timing by the MBMS transmitting unit and the synchronous signal transmitting unit.   
     
     
         3 . A base station performing radio communication between the mobile terminal, comprising:
 an MBMS transmitting unit transmitting, in discontinuous manner for a plurality of times, data of a multimedia broadcast multicast service (MBMS); and   a call reception information transmitting unit transmitting, in discontinuous manner in time for a plurality of times, information used for call reception processing;   a synchronous signal transmitting unit transmitting, in discontinuous manner in time, synchronization signals,   wherein, the data of the MBMS and the information used for call reception processing are transmitted at different timing by the MBMS transmitting unit and the call reception information transmitting unit, and   the data of the MBMS and the synchronization signals are transmitted at different timing by the MBMS transmitting unit and the synchronous signal transmitting unit.   
     
     
         4 . A mobile terminal performing radio communication between a base station, comprising:
 an MBMS receiving unit receiving, in discontinuous manner for a plurality of times, data of a multimedia broadcast multicast service (MBMS); and   a call reception information receiving unit receiving, in discontinuous manner in time for a plurality of times, information used for call reception processing;   a synchronous signal receiving unit receiving, in discontinuous manner in time, synchronization signals,   wherein, the data of the MBMS and the information used for call reception processing are received at different timing by the MBMS receiving unit and the call reception information receiving unit, and   the data of the MBMS and the synchronization signals are received at different timing by the MBMS receiving unit and the synchronous signal receiving unit.
