Abstract
The invention in at least one embodiment includes a system for treating water having an intake module, a vortex module, a disk-pack module, and a motor module where the intake module is above the vortex module, which is above the disk-pack module and the motor module. In a further embodiment, a housing is provided over at least the intake module and the vortex module and sits above the disk-pack module. In at least one further embodiment, the disk-pack module includes a disk-pack turbine having a plurality of disks having at least one waveform present on at least one of the disks.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedI claim:
1 . A disk-pack housing for use in a water treatment system, said disk-pack housing comprising:
an accumulation chamber having its shortest height configured to be proximate a perimeter of a disk-pack turbine to be inserted into said accumulation chamber, said accumulation chamber having an opening passing through its bottom configured to receive a bottom of the disk-pack turbine; a discharge channel extending substantially around a periphery of said accumulation chamber and away from said accumulation chamber, said discharge channel having a substantially elliptical cross-section; and a discharge chamber in fluid communication with said discharge channel.
2 . The disk-pack housing according to claim 1 , further comprising a supplemental inlet in fluid communication with said accumulation chamber.
3 . The disk-pack housing according to claim 2 , wherein said supplemental inlet includes an inlet port and an inlet feed chamber such that a fluid pathway is capable of running from said inlet port through said inlet feed chamber into at least one of said accumulation chamber and said discharge channel.
4 . The disk-pack housing according to claim 1 , wherein said discharge chamber includes
a discharge outlet, a wall, and a spiral protrusion running along said wall in an upward direction towards said discharge outlet.
5 . The disk-pack housing according to claim 4 , further comprising a particulate discharge port extending from a bottom of said discharge chamber.
6 . The disk-pack housing according to claim 5 , wherein said discharge housing includes a wall and a spiral protrusion running along said wall of the discharge chamber in a downward direction towards said particulate discharge port.
7 . The disk-pack housing according to claim 6 , further comprising a structural interface at a top of said discharge chamber configured to attach to a discharge housing.
8 . The disk-pack housing according to claim 1 , further comprising a particulate discharge port extending from a bottom of said discharge chamber.
9 . The disk-pack housing according to claim 8 , wherein said discharge housing includes a wall and a spiral protrusion running along said wall of the discharge chamber in a downward direction towards said particulate discharge port.
10 . The disk-pack housing according to claim 9 , further comprising a structural interface at a top of said discharge chamber configured to attach to a discharge housing.
11 . The disk-pack housing according to claim 1 , further comprising a structural interface at a top of said discharge chamber configured to attach to a discharge housing.
12 . The disk-pack housing according to claim 1 , further including a top section and a bottom section that together form said housing and define said accumulation chamber, said discharge channel, and said discharge chamber.
13 . An intake module for use in a water treatment system, the intake module comprising:
an intake catch having a wall and a bottom with an intake screen with a plurality of openings, an intake housing defining an intake chamber, said intake chamber having a substantially paraboloid shape upper section narrowing to its bottom, and a plurality of intake outlets in fluid communication with the intake chamber; and a solids outlet in fluid communication with said bottom of said intake chamber
14 . The intake module according to claim 13 , further comprising a plurality of conduits where each conduit is connected to a respective intake outlet.
15 . The intake module according to claim 14 , wherein the intake housing includes mounting ears configured to connect to support members.
16 . The intake module according to claim 14 , wherein each conduit spiral down from said intake outlets and/or each conduit is flexible.
17 . The intake module according to claim 16 , wherein the intake housing includes mounting ears configured to connect to support members.
18 . The intake module according to claim 13 , wherein the intake housing includes mounting ears configured to connect to support members.Cited by (0)
