Abstract

An apparatus and a method of wireless communication for multicast and broadcast service (MBS) are provided. The method for MBS by a user equipment (UE) includes being configured, from at least one of a first base station, a second base station, or a third base station, with a shared-5G multicast and broadcast service network (S-5MBSN) information in a S-5MBSN before a cell reselection and receiving, from the at least one of the first base station, the second base station, or the third base station, an MBS data in the S-5MBSN during a UE mobility, wherein the S-5MBSN is shared by an inter-cell, an inter node, and/or multiple public land mobile networks (PLMNs), the S-5MBSN provides a same 5MBS session/content, and the same 5MBS session/content is scheduled by the inter-cell, the inter node, and/or the multiple PLMNs independently.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A wireless communication method for multicast and broadcast service (MBS) by a user equipment (UE), comprising:
 being configured a shared-5G multicast and broadcast service network (S-5MBSN) information before a cell reselection; and   receiving, from at least one of a first base station, a second base station, or a third base station, an MBS data in the S-5MBSN during a UE mobility, wherein the S-5MBSN provides a same 5MBS session/content, and the same 5MBS session/content is scheduled by the first base station, the second base station, and the third base station independently.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the same 5MBS session/content comprises a shared 5MBS packet, and the shared 5MBS packet is scheduled by the first base station and the second base station independently based on different 5MBS data arrive time from one or more 5G core networks (5GCNs). 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the same 5MBS session/content comprises a 5MBS bearer context, and the 5MBS bearer context in the S-5MBSN is shared. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein when the same 5MBS session/content is activated and a S-5MBSN configuration procedure is performed based on a configuration threshold, information of a neighboring cell for the UE, or the same 5MBS session/content provided by the second base station, the S-5MBSN information is exchanged between an inter-cell, an inter node, and/or multiple PLMNs. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein an MBS admission control is performed by the second base station during the UE mobility. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the S-5MBSN information comprises at least one of the followings:
 a S-5MBSN identifier, a 5MBS identifier, a group radio network temporary identifier (G-RNTI), a bearer type comprising a point-to-multipoint (PTM) bearer or a point-to-point (PTP) bearer for 5MBS, a transmission frequency and period, a sequence number comprising a start sequence number and/or an end sequence number, a 5MBS service continuity bit, a UE context information, a UE capability, a group UE identifier, a mobility restriction of the UE for 5G private network, a closed access group identifier (CAG ID) for 5G private network, or a UE-specific information.   
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein a sequence number of the S-5MBSN information is used to synchronize a continuity of 5MBS data transmission between the first base station and the second base station, and the 5MBS data corresponding to the sequence number of the S-5MBSN information is buffered by the second base station and broadcasted to the UE. 
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the S-5MBSN information is transmitted to the UE in at least one of a system information block (SIB), a 5G multicast control channel (5MCCH), a paging, an on-demand SIB, or a radio resource control (RRC) reconfiguration via broadcast or unicast depended on a number of interested UEs and an MBS reliability requirement. 
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein a S-5MBSN configuration request comprises a 5MBS service continuity bit and an end sequence number to activate a continuing/duplicate 5MBS transmission when a S-5MBSN configuration procedure is performed. 
     
     
         10 . The method of  claim 9 , wherein a S-5MBSN configuration response comprises a confirmation of 5MBS service continuity bit and/or other reject information when the S-5MBSN configuration procedure is performed. 
     
     
         11 . The method of  claim 9 , further comprising:
 based on a change of monitored S-5MBSN information, transmitting, to the first base station, a 5MBS SC indication and/or 5MBS sequence number to the first base station or the second base station.   
     
     
         12 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein a UE mobility comprises a 5MBS handover or tracking area update (TAU) which is performed by the group of UEs via a PTP or PTM radio bearer. 
     
     
         13 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein in a TAU of the UE or a group of UEs for 5MBS SC, a 5MBS SC indication and/or an end of 5MBS sequence number are transmitted to the first base station by the UE to initiate the TAU for 5MBS SC. 
     
     
         14 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein in a S-5MBSN configuration procedure integrated with a dual connectivity (DC) procedure, a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) duplication is activated, a master node (MN) leg activation is performed by the first base station, a secondary node (SN) leg activation is performed by the second base station, and a 5MBS SC request with an end of a SN transmitted sequence number/bearer type is transmitted to the first base station by the second base station. 
     
     
         15 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein in a S-5MBSN configuration procedure integrated with a dual connectivity (DC) procedure, a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) duplication is activated, a master node (MN) leg activation is performed by the first base station, a secondary node (SN) leg activation is performed by the second base station, and a 5MBS SC indication is transmitted to the first base station by the UE for initiating a 5MBS SC SN change. 
     
     
         16 . The method of  claim 15 , wherein both PTM bearer and PTP bearer are transmitted simultaneously in the MN and/or the SN depended on a quality of service (QoS) requirement, a downlink loading, a number of interest UEs. 
     
     
         17 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein a radio access network (RAN) functional split is adopted by the at least one of the first base station, the second base station, or the third base station comprising a centralized unit (CU) and one or more distributed units (DUs), and an F1 interface is defined between the CU and the one or more DUs. 
     
     
         18 . A wireless communication method for multicast and broadcast service (MBS) by a first base station, comprising:
 configuring, to one or more user equipments (UEs), a shared-5G multicast and broadcast service network (S-5MBSN) information before a cell reselection; and   transmitting, to the one or more UEs, an MBS data in the S-5MBSN during a UE mobility, wherein the S-5MBSN provides a same 5MBS session/content, and the same 5MBS session/content is scheduled by the first base station, the second base station, and the third base station independently.   
     
     
         19 . A user equipment (UE), comprising:
 a memory;   a transceiver; and   a processor coupled to the memory and the transceiver;   wherein the processor is configured to perform the method of  claim 1 .   
     
     
         20 . A first base station, comprising:
 a memory;   a transceiver; and   a processor coupled to the memory and the transceiver;   wherein the processor is configured to perform the method of  claim 18 .
