Abstract
Methods and systems for presenting transportation options that utilize different modalities are provided. In one embodiment, a method is provided that includes receiving a location of a mobile device. A map may then be generated on the mobile device that depicts an area surrounding the location of the mobile device. An information value of the map may be determined and a first position of a panel may be determined based on the information value. The map and the panel may be displayed, with the panel overlaying at least a portion of the map in the first position.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method comprising:
generating, for display within a graphical user interface of a mobile device, a digital map of an area corresponding to a location of the mobile device; providing, for display together with the digital map within the graphical user interface of the mobile device, an information panel presenting information associated with transportation requests, the information panel placed in a first overlaying position based on information depicted within the digital map; detecting an update to the information depicted within the digital map; and based on the update to the information depicted within the digital map, modifying the graphical user interface to place the information panel in a second overlaying position relative to the digital map.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein providing the information panel for display in the first overlaying position comprises:
generating the information panel in a first size based on an amount of information depicted within the digital map; and providing the information panel for display overlaid over a first portion of the digital map based on the amount of information depicted within the digital map.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein detecting the update to the information depicted within the digital map comprises detecting a change in an amount of information depicted within the digital map.
4 . The method of claim 3 , wherein modifying the graphical user interface to place the information panel in the second overlaying position comprises:
modifying a size of the information panel based on the change in the amount of information depicted within the digital map; and modifying a location of the information panel to overlay a different portion of the digital map within the graphical user interface based on the change in the amount of information depicted within the digital map.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein detecting the update to the information depicted within the digital map comprises detecting a change in a ride status of the mobile device.
6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein modifying the graphical user interface to place the information panel in the second overlaying position comprises:
modifying a size of the information panel based on the change in the ride status of the mobile device; and modifying a location of the information panel to overlay a different portion of the digital map within the graphical user interface based on the change in the ride status of the mobile device.
7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein providing the information panel for display in the first overlaying position comprises:
detecting a vertical resolution of the mobile device; and providing the information panel for display overlaid over a first portion of the digital map based on the vertical resolution of the mobile device and the information depicted within the digital map.
8 . A system comprising:
at least one processor; and a non-transitory computer readable medium comprising instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the system to:
generate, for display within a graphical user interface of a mobile device, a digital map of an area corresponding to a location of the mobile device;
provide, for display together with the digital map within the graphical user interface of the mobile device, an information panel presenting information associated with transportation requests, the information panel placed in a first overlaying position based on information depicted within the digital map;
detect an update to the information depicted within the digital map; and
based on the update to the information depicted within the digital map, modify the graphical user interface to place the information panel in a second overlaying position relative to the digital map.
9 . The system of claim 8 , further comprising instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the system to provide the information panel for display in the first overlaying position by:
generating the information panel in a first size based on an amount of information depicted within the digital map; and providing the information panel for display overlaid over a first portion of the digital map based on the amount of information depicted within the digital map.
10 . The system of claim 8 , further comprising instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the system to detect the update to the information depicted within the digital map by detecting a change in an amount of information depicted within the digital map.
11 . The system of claim 10 , further comprising instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the system to modify the graphical user interface to place the information panel in the second overlaying position by:
modifying a size of the information panel based on the change in the amount of information depicted within the digital map; and modifying a location of the information panel to overlay a different portion of the digital map within the graphical user interface based on the change in the amount of information depicted within the digital map.
12 . The system of claim 8 , further comprising instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the system to detect the update to the information depicted within the digital map by detecting a change in a ride status of the mobile device.
13 . The system of claim 12 , further comprising instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the system to modify the graphical user interface to place the information panel in the second overlaying position by:
modifying a size of the information panel based on the change in the ride status of the mobile device; and modifying a location of the information panel to overlay a different portion of the digital map within the graphical user interface based on the change in the ride status of the mobile device.
14 . The system of claim 8 , further comprising instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the system to provide the information panel for display in the first overlaying position by:
detecting a vertical resolution of the mobile device; and providing the information panel for display overlaid over a first portion of the digital map based on the vertical resolution of the mobile device and the information depicted within the digital map.
15 . A non-transitory computer readable medium comprising instructions that, when executed by a computing device, cause the computing device to:
generate, for display within a graphical user interface of a mobile device, a digital map of an area corresponding to a location of the mobile device; provide, for display together with the digital map within the graphical user interface of the mobile device, an information panel presenting information associated with transportation requests, the information panel placed in a first overlaying position based on information depicted within the digital map; detect an update to the information depicted within the digital map; and based on the update to the information depicted within the digital map, modify the graphical user interface to place the information panel in a second overlaying position relative to the digital map.
16 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 15 , further comprising instructions that, when executed by the computing device, cause the computing device to provide the information panel for display in the first overlaying position by:
generating the information panel in a first size based on an amount of information depicted within the digital map; and providing the information panel for display overlaid over a first portion of the digital map based on the amount of information depicted within the digital map.
