Abstract

Systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable media for performing exchanges. One method includes receiving a request identifying a payor account and an amount of funds to transfer an account associated with a customer of the depository bank computing system, determining the request qualifies for a non-inquiry transaction (NIT) protocol, transmitting, by the depository bank computing system to an account verification service computing system over the real-time data channel, a guarantee offer including a payor account token based on the shared account status information, receiving, over the real-time data channel and from the account verification service computing system, an accepted guarantee offer, crediting an account of the customer, receiving, over the real-time data channel, a guarantee override, and reversing the transfer of funds associated with the guarantee.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A method, comprising:
 receiving, by a depository bank computing system, a request identifying a payor account and an amount of funds to transfer an account associated with a customer of the depository bank computing system, wherein a paying bank computing system stores account status information of a plurality of member banks and shares account status information comprising account balances with member banks of the plurality of member banks over a real-time data channel;   determining, by the depository bank computing system, the request qualifies for a non-inquiry transaction (NIT) protocol based on the depository bank computing system being a first member bank of the plurality of member banks;   transmitting, by the depository bank computing system to an account verification service computing system over the real-time data channel, a guarantee offer comprising a payor account token based on the shared account status information, wherein the shared account status information comprises at least a tentative account balance of the payor account;   receiving, by the depository bank computing system over the real-time data channel and from the account verification service computing system, an accepted guarantee offer comprising a guarantee of a transfer of funds by the paying bank computing system;   crediting, by the depository bank computing system based on an account status verification, an account of the customer of the depository bank computing system by the amount of funds to transfer such that the amount of funds to transfer are made available to the customer;   transmitting, by the depository bank computing system to the account verification service computing system over the real-time data channel, a transaction settlement message;   receiving, by the depository bank computing system over the real-time data channel, a guarantee override invalidating the transfer of funds; and   reversing, by the depository bank computing system, the transfer of funds associated with the guarantee from the account of the customer by the amount of funds to transfer.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the accepted guarantee offer is indicative of the account status verification having been completed by the account verification service computing system by detokenizing the payor account token and cross-referencing the payor account as identified by the payor account token with data from one or more data batches received by the account verification service computing system over a batch feed data channel at predetermined intervals from a paying bank. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein receiving the request includes receiving a check by the customer of a depository bank, the check drawn from an account associated with a paying bank. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 3 , further comprising determining a need for the reversal of the transfer of funds from the account of the customer of the depository bank, by the depository bank computing system, wherein the determination is based on the check being fraudulent. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the payor account is associated with the first member bank of the plurality of member banks, and wherein the depository bank computing system is a second member bank of the plurality of member banks. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 sending, by the depository bank computing system, a transaction complete reversal message to the account verification service computing system; and   receiving, by the depository bank computing system, a reversal acknowledgement from the account verification service computing system.   
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 generating, by the depository bank computing system, a batch payment file including a transaction associated with the transfer of funds; and   sending, by the depository bank computing system, the batch payment file to an automated clearing house computing system.   
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 7 , further comprising receiving, by the depository bank computing system, from the account verification service computing system, a return message including a bank return file including information about the reversal of the transfer of funds. 
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the reversal occurs after settlement of the transfer of funds at a depository bank and a paying bank. 
     
     
         10 . A depository bank computing system, comprising:
 network interface logic configured to allow data communication over a network between the depository bank computing system, an account verification service computing system, and a paying bank computing system; and   a processing circuit configured to:
 receive a request identifying a payor account and an amount of funds to transfer an account associated with a customer of the depository bank computing system, wherein the paying bank computing system stores account status information of a plurality of member banks and shares account status information comprising account balances with member banks of the plurality of member banks over a real-time data channel; 
 determine the request qualifies for a non-inquiry transaction (NIT) protocol based on the depository bank computing system being a first member bank of the plurality of member banks; 
 transmit, to the account verification service computing system over the real-time data channel, a guarantee offer comprising a payor account token based on the shared account status information, wherein the shared account status information comprises at least a tentative account balance of the payor account; 
 receive, over the real-time data channel and from the account verification service computing system, an accepted guarantee offer comprising a guarantee of a transfer of funds by the paying bank computing system; 
 credit, based on an account status verification, an account of the customer of the depository bank computing system by the amount of funds to transfer such that the amount of funds to transfer are made available to the customer; 
 transmit, to the account verification service computing system over the real-time data channel, a transaction settlement message; 
 receive, over the real-time data channel, a guarantee override invalidating the transfer of funds; and 
 reverse the transfer of funds associated with the guarantee from the account of the customer by the amount of funds to transfer. 
   
     
     
         11 . The depository bank computing system of  claim 10 , wherein the accepted guarantee offer is indicative of the account status verification having been completed by the account verification service computing system by detokenizing the payor account token and cross-referencing the payor account as identified by the payor account token with data from one or more data batches received by the account verification service computing system over a batch feed data channel at predetermined intervals from a paying bank. 
     
     
         12 . The depository bank computing system of  claim 10 , wherein receiving the request includes receiving a check by the customer of a depository bank, the check drawn from an account associated with a paying bank.

The depository bank computing system of  claim 12 , further comprising determining a need for the reversal of the transfer of funds from the account of the customer of the depository bank, by the depository bank computing system, wherein the determination is based on the check being fraudulent. 
     
     
         14 . The depository bank computing system of  claim 10 , wherein the payor account is associated with the first member bank of the plurality of member banks, and wherein the depository bank computing system is a second member bank of the plurality of member banks. 
     
     
         15 . The depository bank computing system of  claim 10 , the processing circuit further configured to:
 send a transaction complete reversal message to the account verification service computing system; and   receive a reversal acknowledgement from the account verification service computing system.   
     
     
         16 . The depository bank computing system of  claim 10 , the processing circuit further configured to:
 generate a batch payment file including a transaction associated with the transfer of funds; and   send the batch payment file to an automated clearing house computing system.   
     
     
         17 . The depository bank computing system of  claim 16 , further comprising receiving, by the depository bank computing system, from the account verification service computing system, a return message including a bank return file including information about the reversal of the transfer of funds. 
     
     
         18 . The depository bank computing system of  claim 10 , wherein the reversal occurs after settlement of the transfer of funds at a depository bank and a paying bank. 
     
     
         19 . A non-transitory computer-readable media having computer-executable instructions embodied therein that, when executed by a processor of a depository bank computing system, cause the depository bank computing system to:
 receive a request identifying a payor account and an amount of funds to transfer an account associated with a customer of the depository bank computing system, wherein a paying bank computing system stores account status information of a plurality of member banks and shares account status information comprising account balances with member banks of the plurality of member banks over a real-time data channel;   determine the request qualifies for a non-inquiry transaction (NIT) protocol based on the depository bank computing system being a first member bank of the plurality of member banks;   transmit, to an account verification service computing system over the real-time data channel, a guarantee offer comprising a payor account token based on the shared account status information, wherein the shared account status information comprises at least a tentative account balance of the payor account;   receive, over the real-time data channel and from the account verification service computing system, an accepted guarantee offer comprising a guarantee of a transfer of funds by the paying bank computing system;   credit, based on an account status verification, an account of the customer of the depository bank computing system by the amount of funds to transfer such that the amount of funds to transfer are made available to the customer;   transmit, to the account verification service computing system over the real-time data channel, a transaction settlement message;   receive, over the real-time data channel, a guarantee override invalidating the transfer of funds; and   reverse the transfer of funds associated with the guarantee from the account of the customer by the amount of funds to transfer.   
     
     
         20 . The non-transitory computer-readable media of  claim 19 , wherein the accepted guarantee offer is indicative of the account status verification having been completed by the account verification service computing system by detokenizing the payor account token and cross-referencing the payor account as identified by the payor account token with data from one or more data batches received by the account verification service computing system over a batch feed data channel at predetermined intervals from a paying bank.
