Abstract

A monitoring system and a method for operating the monitoring system in an inmate tracking system in a controlled environment is disclosed. The monitoring system receives video and audio data from devices located within the controlled environment and organizes the video and audio data within profiles that allow for searches of the video and audio to be performed. The monitoring system analyzes the video and audio data and generates the profiles to include identified objects associated with the video and audio data.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . (canceled)

         2 . A method for tracking an inmate within a controlled environment, comprising:
 receiving, by a monitoring system, a video, wherein the video is provided by at least one video camera within the controlled environment; and performing, by the monitoring system, behavior identification of the video, wherein the behavior identification comprises:
 utilizing a behavior analysis algorithm to detect an action being performed in the video;
 retrieving, from a location profile, location information that indicates a physical location of the at least one video camera in a defined area within the controlled environment;
 determining a location of the video based at least in part on the retrieved location information;
 determining a trigger condition based on the detected action; and
 generating an alert based on the trigger condition, wherein the alert includes the location of the video.

         3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the behavior identification further comprises:
 performing an identification of the inmate in the video; retrieving an inmate profile based on the identification of the inmate; updating an inmate location history in the inmate profile by associating the inmate profile with the location of the video.

         4 . The method of claim 3 , wherein the identification of the inmate is based on a gait analysis of the video.

         5 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising:
 determining a category of behavior based on the detected action, wherein the trigger condition is associated with the category of behavior.

         6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the category of behavior includes at least one of a prohibited behavior and a permitted behavior.

         7 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the prohibited behavior includes a suicide attempt or a fight.

         8 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the video is received in real-time and the behavior identification of the video is performed in real-time.

         9 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the behavior identification further comprises:
 detecting at least one other inmate in the video; and determining a number of inmates in the video based on the detecting, wherein the trigger condition is further based on the number of inmates in the video.

         10 . A monitoring system for tracking an inmate within a controlled environment, comprising:
 a memory; and a processor coupled to the memory and configured to:
 receiving, by a monitoring system, a video, wherein the video is provided by at least one video camera within the controlled environment; and
 performing, by the monitoring system, behavior identification of the video, wherein the behavior identification comprises:
 utilizing a behavior analysis algorithm to detect an action being performed in the video;
 retrieving, from a location profile, location information that indicates a physical location of the at least one video camera in a defined area within the controlled environment;
 determining a location of the video based at least in part on the retrieved location information;
 determining a trigger condition based on the detected action; and
 generating an alert based on the trigger condition, wherein the alert includes the location of the video.

         11 . The monitoring system of claim 10 , wherein the behavior identification further comprises:
 performing an identification of the inmate in the video; retrieving an inmate profile based on the identification of the inmate; updating an inmate location history in the inmate profile by associating the inmate profile with the location of the video.

         12 . The monitoring system of claim 11 , wherein the identification of the inmate is based on performing a gait analysis of the video.

         13 . The monitoring system of claim 10 , wherein the behavior identification further comprises:
 determining a category of behavior based on the detected action, wherein the trigger condition is associated with the category of behavior.

         14 . The monitoring system of claim 13 , wherein the category of behavior includes at least one of a prohibited behavior and a permitted behavior.

         15 . The monitoring system of claim 14 , wherein the prohibited behavior includes a suicide attempt or a fight.

         16 . The monitoring system of claim 10 , wherein the video is received in real-time and the behavior identification of the video is performed in real-time.

         17 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium having instructions stored therein, which when executed by a processor in a wireless device, cause the processor to perform operations for tracking an inmate within a controlled environment, the operations comprising:
 receiving, by a monitoring system, a video, wherein the video is provided by at least one video camera within the controlled environment; and performing, by the monitoring system, behavior identification of the video, wherein the behavior identification comprises:
 utilizing a behavior analysis algorithm to detect an action being performed in the video;
 retrieving, from a location profile, location information that indicates a physical location of the at least one video camera in a defined area within the controlled environment;
 determining a location of the video based at least in part on the retrieved location information;
 determining a trigger condition based on the detected action; and
 generating an alert based on the trigger condition, wherein the alert includes the location of the video.

         18 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 17 , wherein the behavior identification further comprises:
 performing an identification of the inmate in the video; retrieving an inmate profile based on the identification of the inmate; updating an inmate location history in the inmate profile by associating the inmate profile with the location of the video.

         19 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 18 , wherein the identification of the inmate is based on performing a gait analysis of the video.

         20 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 17 , wherein the behavior identification further comprises:
