Abstract

In certain embodiments, a device for outputting updated messages a determinate number of times is provided. The device may comprise an output, an input, one or more processors, a memory, code stored in the memory and executed by the processor, wherein at least one message is received from time to time by the device through the input, and wherein the code selects if and when the at least one message is to be provided on the device via the output a determinate number of times. The operation of the enabled device can allow the message to be delivered to the user as the result of some action in regards to enabled device usage.

         19 . A system that provides for output of a media element and conditional output of an updated media element on a media message device, where a processor on the media message device activates a transition state based on conditional access programmable filters applied in a server computer and communicated to the media message device to control system operation on the media message device in order to determine conditional outputting of the updated media element, the media element presenting a first responsive input providing for instigation of a first response action that determines output of the updated media element on the media message device, the updated media element presenting a second responsive input providing for instigation of a second response action responsive to the updated media element on the media message device, the system further provides for associating identifying information for an identification of the following: the media element, the updated media element, a broadcaster, a media element distributor that sources, then communicates the media element to the broadcaster, the updated media element sourced from the broadcaster via a server computer, the media message device, the first response action, the second response action and the system further provides for generation of a unique identifier distinguishing a specific instance of presentation of the updated media element sourced from the broadcaster via the server computer, the system comprising:
 the media message device, wherein the media message device comprises: 
 a receiver operable using at least one processor in the media message device for receipt of the following: the media element sourced from the media element distributor and the updated media element sourced from the broadcaster, the media element and updated media element transmitted by the broadcaster to the media message device; 
   the media message device is further used to access a data stream for obtaining identifying information including the following: a media element identifier, an updated media element identifier, a broadcaster identifier, a media element distributor identifier;   the media message device is further used to: 
 output the media element; 
 present the first responsive input resultant in the instigation of the first response action; 
 validate the first response action with at least one of the conditional access programmable filters via the first responsive input, to direct the transition state; and 
 determine conditional outputting of the updated media element based on the first response action, the updated media element being provisioned through use of a communications protocol with the server computer; 
   one or more processors operational in the media message device are further used to present the second responsive input resultant in an instigation of the second response action controlled through use of the at least one of the conditional access programmable filters, the presentation of the second response action being responsive to the updated media element sourced from the broadcaster;   the one or more processors operational in the media message device are further used to, in response to the first and second response actions, generate an association response comprising: 
 the unique identifier distinguishing the specific instance of presentation of the updated media element sourced from the broadcaster via the server computer; 
 at least one of the following: the media element identifier, the updated media element identifier, the broadcaster identifier, the media element distributor identifier, a media message device identifier; and 
 at least one of the following: the first response action, the second response action; and 
   the one or more processors operational in the media message device are further used to communicate a transmission comprising at least the generated association response to the server computer via the communications protocol, for distinguishing each generated association response from other generated association responses.   
     
     
         20 . The system of  claim 19 , wherein the system further provides for generation of a unique identifier distinguishing a specific instance of presentation of the media element sourced from the broadcaster via the server computer. 
     
     
         21 . The system of  claim 20 , wherein the unique identifier distinguishing the specific instance of presentation of the media element is generated in a record-based database sourced from the broadcaster via the server computer. 
     
     
         22 . The system of  claim 19 , wherein the unique identifier distinguishing a specific instance of presentation of the updated media element is generated in a record-based database sourced from the broadcaster via the server computer. 
     
     
         23 . The system of  claim 19 , wherein the media element comprises at least one of the following: video programming content, graphical content with audio, graphical content without audio, textual content with audio, textual content without audio.

The system of  claim 19 , wherein the updated media element comprises at least one of the following: video advertising content, graphical advertising content with audio, graphical advertising content without audio, textual advertising content with audio, textual advertising content without audio.

The system of  claim 19 , wherein the first response action instigates at least one of the following: an interruption in the output of the media element allowing for output of the updated media element, an interruption in the output of the updated media element allowing output of the media element.

The system of  claim 19 , wherein the second response action comprises a response to at least one of the following: video advertising content, graphical advertising content with audio, graphical advertising content without audio, textual advertising content with audio, textual advertising content without audio.

The system of  claim 19 , wherein the conditional access programmable filters provide for at least one of the following: geographic location of the media message device, an identification of a type of media received using the media message device, prioritization schemes, settings controlling outputting of the media element, settings controlling outputting of the updated media element, a time corresponding to receipt of the media element, a time corresponding to receipt of the updated media element, amount of time for displaying the media element, amount of time for displaying the updated media element, time of an interruption of the media element, time of an interruption of the updated media element, language, cost of media element presentation, cost of reporting frequency of media element presentation, number of times media element outputting occurred, number of times updated media element outputting occurred, demographic information associated with media element outputting, demographic information associated with updated media element outputting, an identification of a type of media received using the media message device, a database record of the media element, a database record of the updated media element, an identification of a data instructions structure applied to the identifying information. 
     
     
         28 . A method providing for outputting of a media element and conditional outputting of an updated media element on a media message device, where a processor on the media message device activates a transition state based on conditional access programmable filters applied in a server computer and communicated to the media message device to control operation of the media message device in order to determine conditional outputting of the updated media element, the media element presenting a first responsive input providing for instigation of a first response action that determines output of the updated media element on the media message device, the updated media element presenting a second responsive input providing for instigation of a second response action responsive to the updated media element on the media message device, the method further providing for associating identifying information for an identification of the following: the media element, the updated media element, a broadcaster, a media element distributor that sources, then communicates the media element to the broadcaster, the updated media element sourced from the broadcaster via a server computer, the media message device, the first response action, the second response action and the method further providing for generation of a unique identifier distinguishing a specific instance of presentation of the updated media element sourced from the broadcaster via the server computer, the method comprising:
 using at least one processor in a receiver operable in the media message device for receipt of the following: the media element sourced from the media element distributor and the updated media element sourced from the broadcaster, the media element and updated media element transmitted by the broadcaster to the media message device;   using the media message device further to access a data stream for obtaining identifying information including the following: a media element identifier, an updated media element identifier, a broadcaster identifier, a media element distributor identifier;   using the media message device further for: 
 outputting the media element; 
 presenting the first responsive input resultant in the instigation of the first response action; 
 validating the first response action with at least one of the conditional access programmable filters via the first responsive input, in directing the transition state; and 
 determining conditional outputting of the updated media element based on the first response action, the updated media element being provisioned through use of a communications protocol with the server computer; 
   using one or more processors operational in the media message device further in presenting the second responsive input resultant in an instigation of the second response action where conditions of response are validated by the at least one of the conditional access programmable filters, the presenting of the second response action being responsive to the updated media element sourced from the broadcaster;   using the one or more processors operational in the media message device further for, in response to the first and second response actions, generating an association response comprising: 
 the unique identifier distinguishing the specific instance of presentation of the updated media element sourced from the broadcaster via the server computer; 
 at least one of the following: the media element identifier, the updated media element identifier, the broadcaster identifier, the media element distributor identifier, a media message device identifier; and 
 at least one of the following: the first response action, the second response action; and 
   using further, the one or more processors operational in the media message device, to communicate a transmission comprising at least the generated association response to the server computer via the communications protocol, for distinguishing each generated association response from other generated association responses.   
     
     
         29 . The method of  claim 28 , wherein the method further provides for generation of a unique identifier distinguishing a specific instance of presentation of the media element sourced from the broadcaster via the server computer. 
     
     
         30 . The method of  claim 29 , wherein the unique identifier distinguishing the specific instance of presentation of the media element is generated in a record-based database sourced from the broadcaster via the server computer. 
     
     
         31 . The method of  claim 28 , wherein the unique identifier distinguishing a specific instance of presentation of the updated media element is generated in a record-based database sourced from the broadcaster via the server computer. 
     
     
         32 . The method of  claim 28 , wherein the media element comprises at least one of the following: video programming content, graphical content with audio, graphical content without audio, textual content with audio, textual content without audio.

The method of  claim 28 , wherein the updated media element comprises at least one of the following: video advertising content, graphical advertising content with audio, graphical advertising content without audio, textual advertising content with audio, textual advertising content without audio.

The method of  claim 28 , wherein the first response action instigates at least one of the following: an interruption in the outputting of the media element allowing for outputting of the updated media element, an interruption in the outputting of the updated media element allowing outputting of the media element.

The method of  claim 28 , wherein the second response action comprises a response to at least one of the following: video advertising content, graphical advertising content with audio, graphical advertising content without audio, textual advertising content with audio, textual advertising content without audio.
