         51 . An isolated monoclonal antibody that binds to Mucin-1 * (MUC1*), comprising:
 (a) a heavy chain (HC) variable region comprising a complementarity determining region 1 (CDR1) comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 172, a HC-CDR2 comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 198, a HC-CDR3 comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 224, a HC-framework region 1 (FWR1) comprising an amino acid sequence with at least 90% sequence identity to the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 362, a HC-FWR2 comprising an amino acid sequence with at least 90% sequence identity to the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 363, and a HC-FWR3 comprising an amino acid sequence with at least 90% sequence identity to the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 364; and   (b) a light chain (LC) variable region comprising a LC-CDR1 comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 108, a LC-CDR2 comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 129, a LC-CDR3 comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 149, a LC-FWR1 comprising an amino acid sequence with at least 90% sequence identity to the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 365, a LC-FWR2 comprising an amino acid sequence with at least 90% sequence identity to the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 366, and a LC-FWR3 comprising an amino acid sequence with at least 90% sequence identity to the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 367.   
     
     
         52 . The antibody of  claim 51 , wherein:
 the HC-FWR1 comprises the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 362, the HC-FWR2 comprises the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 363, and the HC-FWR3 comprises the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 364; and   the LC-FWR1 comprises the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 365, the LC-FWR2 comprises the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 366, and the LC-FWR3 comprises the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 367.

The antibody of  claim 51 , wherein the heavy chain variable region comprises an amino acid sequence with at least 90% sequence identity to the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 11 and the light chain variable region comprises an amino acid sequence with at least 90% sequence identity to the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 13.

The antibody of  claim 51 , wherein the heavy chain variable region comprises an amino acid sequence with at least 95% sequence identity to the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 11 and the light chain variable region comprises an amino acid sequence with at least 95% sequence identity to the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 13. 
     
     
         55 . The antibody of  claim 51 , wherein the heavy chain variable region comprises an amino acid sequence with at least 99% sequence identity to the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 11 and the light chain variable region comprises an amino acid sequence with at least 99% sequence identity to the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 13. 
     
     
         56 . The antibody of  claim 51 , wherein the heavy chain variable region comprises the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 11 and the light chain variable region comprises the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 13. 
     
     
         57 . The antibody of  claim 51 , wherein the antibody is monovalent for MUC1* and specifically binds to the MUC1* amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1. 
     
     
         58 . The antibody of  claim 57 , wherein the antibody inhibits MUC1*-mediated cell growth or proliferation. 
     
     
         59 . The antibody of  claim 51 , wherein the antibody binds specifically to a cancer cell. 
     
     
         60 . The antibody of  claim 51 , wherein the antibody is a Fab, F(ab′), F(ab′) 2 , or a single chain variable fragment antibody (scFv). 
     
     
         61 . The antibody of  claim 60 , wherein the Fab comprises a heavy chain comprising an amino acid sequence with at least 90% sequence identity to the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 47 and/or a kappa chain comprising an amino acid sequence with at least 90% sequence identity to the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 48. 
     
     
         62 . The antibody of  claim 60 , wherein the Fab comprises a heavy chain comprising an amino acid sequence with at least 95% sequence identity to the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 47 and/or a kappa chain comprising an amino acid sequence with at least 95% sequence identity to the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 48. 
     
     
         63 . The antibody of  claim 60 , wherein the Fab comprises a heavy chain comprising an amino acid sequence with at least 99% sequence identity to the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 47 and/or a kappa chain comprising an amino acid sequence with at least 99% sequence identity to the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 48. 
     
     
         64 . The antibody of  claim 60 , wherein the Fab comprises a heavy chain comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 47 and/or a kappa chain comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 48. 
     
     
         65 . The antibody of  claim 60 , wherein the scFv comprises an amino acid sequence with at least 90% sequence identity to the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 17. 
     
     
         66 . The antibody of  claim 60 , wherein the scFv comprises an amino acid sequence with at least 95% sequence identity to the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 17. 
     
     
         67 . The antibody of  claim 60 , wherein the scFv comprises an amino acid sequence with at least 99% sequence identity to the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 17.
