Automatic issue identification and status notification of screensharing in a virtual meeting

Abstract

A system and method to provide automatic status notifications of screensharing status to meeting participant devices participating in a screensharing session in a virtual meeting via a virtual meeting server, to, after an activation of the screen sharing session, determine if content frames for the screensharing session sent from a presenter device have reached other receiving meeting participant devices, determine if the received content frames meet predetermined threshold requirements, determine if an acknowledgment response has been sent to the virtual meeting server from a receiving device confirming receipt of the content frames, and generate a status notification to indicate on a user interface of the presenter device whether the content frames have been received by the receiving devices and meet the predetermined threshold requirements or fail to meet the predetermined threshold requirements.

         21 . A system configured to provide automatic status notifications of screensharing status to a plurality of meeting participant devices participating in a screensharing session in a virtual meeting with one another via a virtual meeting server, the system comprising:
 a processor; and   a memory coupled to the processor for storing a content-share notification application, wherein the content-share notification application includes an analytics module configured to:   after an activation of the screen sharing session in the virtual meeting:   determine if content frames for the screensharing session sent from one of the meeting participant devices, serving as a presenter device, have reached a remaining one or more of the meeting participant devices, serving as screensharing receiving devices,   determine if the received content frames meet predetermined threshold requirements,   determine if an acknowledgment response has been sent to the virtual meeting server from at least one of the receiving devices confirming receipt of the content frames from the presenter device by the at least one of the receiving devices, and   generate a status notification, based on the determination of whether the acknowledgment response has been sent to the virtual meeting server, to indicate on a user interface of the presenter device whether the analytics module determines that the content frames have been received by the at least one of the receiving devices and if the received content frames meet the predetermined threshold requirements or fail to meet the predetermined threshold requirements.

The system of  claim 21 , wherein the analytics module is further configured to send the status notification that the received content frames meet the predetermined threshold requirements, or fail to meet the predetermined threshold requirements, to the presenter device via the virtual meeting server to provide the presenter device with a status notification of which ones of the receiver devices are not receiving the content frames that meet the predetermined threshold requirements. 
     
     
         23 . The system of  claim 22 , wherein:
 each of the plurality of meeting participant devices includes the content-share notification application having the analytics module, and   each of the one or more receiving devices is configured, using the analytics module, to send the status notification for the respective receiving device to the presenter device, through the virtual server, indicating to the presenter device which ones of the receiving devices receive the content frames sent to the receiving devices by the presenter device and meet the predetermined threshold requirements for the received content frames.   
     
     
         24 . The system of  claim 21 , wherein the analytics module is configured to determine whether a time required for the content frames to be received by each of the receiving devices exceeds a predetermined threshold time. 
     
     
         25 . The system of  claim 21 , wherein the analytics module is configured to determine whether the received content frames meet predetermined threshold requirements for resolution of the content frames. 
     
     
         26 . The system of  claim 21 , wherein the analytics module is configured to, when the analytics module determines that the received content frames fail to meet the predetermined threshold requirements, generate the status notification with an indication of a potential reason that the content frames failed to be received in a form meeting the predetermined threshold requirements. 
     
     
         27 . The system of  claim 21 , wherein the analytics module determines if the received content frames meet the predetermined threshold requirements based on target attributes provided from the presenter device to the analytics module with the content frames. 
     
     
         28 . The system of  claim 21 , wherein the virtual meeting server includes the analytics module so that the status notification is generated by the virtual meeting server. 
     
     
         29 . The system of  claim 21 , each of the plurality of meeting participant devices includes the content-share notification application having the analytics module so that each of the receiving devices generates the status notification for the respective receiving device. 
     
     
         30 . The system of  claim 21 , wherein the determination of whether an acknowledgment response has been sent to the virtual meeting server is sent to each of the receiving devices confirming receipt of the content frames from the presenter device by each of the receiving devices. 
     
     
         31 . The system of  claim 30 , wherein the status notification is generated, based on the determination of whether the acknowledgment response has been sent to the virtual meeting server, to indicate on user interfaces of each of the receiver devices as to whether the analytics module determines that the content frames have been received by each of the receiving devices and if the received content frames meet the predetermined threshold requirements or fail to meet the predetermined threshold requirements. 
     
     
         32 . A method to provide automatic status notifications of screensharing status to a plurality of meeting participant devices participating in a screensharing session in a virtual meeting with one another via a virtual meeting server, using a content-share notification application including an analytics module, the method comprising:
 after an activation of the screen sharing session in the virtual meeting:
 determining if content frames for the screensharing session sent from one of the meeting participant devices, serving as a presenter device, have reached a remaining one or more of the meeting participant devices, serving as screensharing receiving devices, 
 determining if the received content frames meet predetermined threshold requirements, 
 determining if an acknowledgment response has been sent to the virtual meeting server from at least one of the receiving devices confirming receipt of the content frames from the presenter device by the at least one of the receiving devices, and 
 generating a status notification, based on the determination of whether the acknowledgment response has been sent to the virtual meeting server, to indicate on a user interface of the presenter device whether the analytics module determines that the content frames have been received by the at least one of the receiving devices and if the received content frames meet the predetermined threshold requirements or fail to meet the predetermined threshold requirements.

The method of  claim 32 , further comprising sending the status notification that the received content frames meet the predetermined threshold requirements, or fail to meet the predetermined threshold requirements, to the presenter device via the virtual meeting server to provide the presenter device with a status notification of which ones of the receiver devices are not receiving the content frames that meet the predetermined threshold requirements. 
     
     
         34 . The method of  claim 33 , wherein:
 each of the plurality of meeting participant devices includes the content-share notification application having the analytics module, and   each of the one or more receiving devices is configured, using the analytics module, to send the status notification for the respective receiving device to the presenter device, through the virtual server, indicating to the presenter device which ones of the receiving devices receive the content frames sent to the receiving devices by the presenter device and meet the predetermined threshold requirements for the received content frames.   
     
     
         35 . The method of  claim 32 , further comprising determining whether a time required for the content frames to be received by each of the receiving devices exceeds a predetermined threshold time. 
     
     
         36 . The method of  claim 32 , further comprising determining whether the received content frames meet predetermined threshold requirements for resolution of the content frames.

The method of  claim 32 , further comprising determining that the received content frames fail to meet the predetermined threshold requirements, and generating the status notification with an indication of a potential reason that the content frames failed to be received in a form meeting the predetermined threshold requirements. 
     
     
         38 . The method of  claim 32 , further comprising determining if the received content frames meet the predetermined threshold requirements based on target attributes provided from the presenter device to the analytics module with the content frames. 
     
     
         39 . The method of  claim 32 , further comprising determining if the received content frames meet the predetermined threshold requirements based on target attributes provided from the presenter device to the analytics module with the content frames. 
     
     
         40 . The method of  claim 32 , wherein the virtual meeting server includes the analytics module so that the status notification is generated by the virtual meeting server.
