Adjacent Electrical Contact Which Provides Pixel Delineation for Monolithic Integration of a Colloidal Quantum Dot Photodector Film with a Readout Integrated Circuit
Abstract
A photodetector device is provided that includes a ROIC having a top surface with a plurality of electrically conductive first electrodes within a pattern of surface areas on the top surface each surface area having a border, and an electrically conductive electrode grid having a portion on the border of each of the surface areas; and a photodetector film overlying the surface area. The electrode grid can be configured to surround each surface area to define the borders of the surface areas as pixels. The photodetector film can be a colloidal quantum dot film. The ROIC has circuit elements signal-connected to the plurality of first electrodes. Methods for forming the photodetector device include photolithography and deposition methods.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A photodetector device, comprising:
a substrate having a top surface; the substrate having an electrically conductive first electrode within a surface area on the top surface having a border, and an electrically conductive electrode grid having a portion on the border of the surface area; and a photodetector film overlying the surface area.
2 . The photodetector device according to claim 1 , wherein the electrode grid surrounds the surface area and defines the border.
3 . The photodetector device according to claim 2 , wherein the photodetector film comprises colloidal quantum dots.
4 . The photodetector device according to claim 3 , wherein the surface area comprises one of a plurality of surface areas all having the same shape and size, and wherein the electrode grid surrounds each of the surface areas and defines borders of the surface areas.
5 . The photodetector device according to claim 4 , wherein the border of each surface area has a square shape.
6 . The photodetector device according to claim 5 , wherein the first electrode is one of a plurality of first electrodes and one first electrode of said plurality of first electrodes is located in each one of said plurality of surface areas.
7 . The photodetector device according to claim 6 , wherein each first electrode of said plurality of first electrodes is located in substantially the center of one surface area of said plurality of surface areas.
8 . The photodetector device according to claim 7 , wherein the electrode grid has a rectangular cross section.
9 . The photodetector device according to claim 1 , wherein said substrate comprises an ROIC having circuit elements signal-connected to said plurality of first electrodes.
10 . The photodetector device according to claim 1 , wherein the photodetector film comprises colloidal quantum dots.
