Rewards program according to transaction frequency

Abstract

An electronic record related to a first transaction of a user can be received at a point-of-sale device. A user interface with real-time transaction data can be generated and displayed on the user device. An eligibility of the first transaction for a reward program can be determined. A portion of the reward program based on said determined eligibility can be selected and the electronic record of the first transaction can be updated by modifying the real-time transaction data currently displayed within the UI.

1 . A method comprising:
 for each of a plurality of transactions initiated by a user over a specific time period, determining eligibility of the respective transaction for a reward program based on a time when the respective transaction was posted, the reward program providing a benefit to the user when a threshold number of transactions during the specific time period is determined to be eligible;   determining a number of the plurality of transactions that are pending and not yet eligible;   generating, based on a number of the plurality of transactions determined to be eligible, a progress tracker graphic indicating progress toward the threshold number of transactions for the benefit;   generating a graphic illustrating the determined number of pending transactions; and   generating a user interface for display to the user, the user interface including the progress tracker graphic and the graphic illustrating the determined number of pending transactions.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the plurality of transactions that are pending are initiated but not yet posted. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the progress tracker graphic illustrates a relative value or ratio between the number of the plurality of transactions and the threshold number of transactions, and wherein the progress tracker graphic illustrates whether the threshold number has been achieved. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the transactions are specified as records from a payment processing system. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the reward program comprises a first portion and a second portion, the first portion being an accumulated benefit available to the user after the threshold number of transactions has posted, the second portion being an immediate benefit available before the threshold number of transactions has posted. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 5 , wherein the immediate benefit is a functionality for modifying a value of the amount of the plurality of transactions. 
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 1 , the method further comprising:
 monitoring a number of the plurality of transactions that are eligible over the specific period of time; and   updating a real-time amount of the plurality of transactions currently displayed by a user interface.   
     
     
         8 . A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium tangibly encoded with computer executable instructions, that when executed by a computing device, perform a method comprising:
 for each of a plurality of transactions initiated by a user over a specific time period, determining eligibility of the respective transaction for a reward program based on a time when the respective transaction was posted, the reward program providing a benefit to the user when a threshold number of transactions during the specific time period is determined to be eligible;   determining a number of the plurality of transactions that are pending and not yet eligible;   generating, based on a number of the plurality of transactions determined to be eligible, a progress tracker graphic indicating progress toward the threshold number of transactions for the benefit;   generating a graphic illustrating the determined number of pending transactions; and   generating a user interface for display to the user, the user interface including the progress tracker graphic and the graphic illustrating the determined number of pending transactions.   
     
     
         9 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of  claim 8 , wherein the plurality of transactions that are pending are initiated but not yet posted. 
     
     
         10 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of  claim 8 , wherein the progress tracker graphic illustrates a relative value or ratio between the number of the plurality of transactions and the threshold number of transactions, and wherein the progress tracker graphic illustrates whether the threshold number has been achieved. 
     
     
         11 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of  claim 8 , wherein the transactions are specified as records from a payment processing system.

         14 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of  claim 8 , further comprising:
 monitoring a number of the plurality of transactions that are eligible over the specific period of time; and   updating a real-time amount of the plurality of transactions currently displayed by a user interface.   
     
     
         15 . A computer system comprising:
 a processor; and   a non-transitory memory configured to communicate with the processor, the non-transitory memory having instructions stored thereon that when executed by the processor cause the processor to perform operations comprising:
 for each of a plurality of transactions initiated by a user over a specific time period, determining eligibility of the respective transaction for a reward program based on a time when the respective transaction was posted, the reward program providing a benefit to the user when a threshold number of transactions during the specific time period is determined to be eligible; 
 determining a number of the plurality of transactions that are pending and not yet eligible; 
 generating, based on a number of the plurality of transactions determined to be eligible, a progress tracker graphic indicating progress toward the threshold number of transactions for the benefit; 
 generating a graphic illustrating the determined number of pending transactions; and 
 generating a user interface for display to the user, the user interface including the progress tracker graphic and the graphic illustrating the determined number of pending transactions. 
   
     
     
         16 . The computer system of  claim 15 , wherein the plurality of transactions that are pending are initiated but not yet posted.

The computer system of  claim 15 , wherein the progress tracker graphic illustrates a relative value or ratio between the number of the plurality of transactions and the threshold number of transactions, and wherein the progress tracker graphic illustrates whether the threshold number has been achieved.
