Identification of targets for a campaign by referencing a blockchain and/or a distributed system file system
Abstract
A device, that is part of a network of nodes that has access to a blockchain, may receive, from a user device associated with an entity, a request for campaign information for a campaign. The request may include data identifying campaign parameters. The device may interact with smart contracts associated with the blockchain to identify individuals to target for the campaign. The smart contracts may be configured to receive the campaign parameters as input and to output an indication of whether campaign preferences are compatible with the campaign parameters. The device may generate the campaign information to include information identifying the individuals targeted for the campaign and information identifying particular campaign preferences found to be compatible with particular campaign parameters. The device may provide the campaign information to the user device to permit the user device to use the campaign information to target the individuals for the campaign.

21 . A method, comprising:
receiving, by a first node of a network of nodes that have access to one or more of a distributed ledger or a distributed file system, a request from a second node of the network of nodes; identifying, by the first node and based on the request, targeting information, for distributing particular information, by interacting with a set of smart contracts associated with one or more of the distributed ledger or the distributed file system; and providing, by the first node, the targeting information to a device that uses the targeting information to distribute the particular information using a short message service (SMS) or e-mail service.
22 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the request includes one or more of:
a first parameter indicating a mode of communication that is to be used to distribute the particular information, or a second parameter indicating a duration for distributing the particular information.
23 . The method of claim 22 ,
wherein the request includes the first parameter, and wherein the first parameter indicating that the particular information is to be distributed via e-mail but not via an SMS message or telephone.
24 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the device is the second node.
25 . The method of claim 21 ,
wherein the set of smart contracts are associated with the distributed ledger, and wherein the method further comprises:
broadcasting an update to the second node and one or more other nodes of the network of nodes when a change is made to the distributed ledger.
26 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the set of smart contracts include one or more smart contacts including preferences of individuals regarding whether personal information is to be share or when the personal information is shareable.
27 . The method of claim 21 ,
wherein the set of smart contracts are associated with the distributed ledger, and wherein the distributed ledger is a tamper-resistant data structure and uses cryptographic links between blocks of the distributed ledger.
28 . The method of claim 21 , wherein identifying the targeting information comprises:
providing a plurality of parameters included in the request as input to one or more smart contracts of the set of smart contracts; receiving, as output from the one or more smart contracts, an encrypted identifier that identifies a storage location within the distributed file system; and identifying, using the encrypted identifier, the targeting information by obtaining an e-mail address or a telephone number from the storage location within the distributed file system.
29 . A first node, comprising:
one or more memories; and one or more processors, coupled to the one or more memories, configured to:
receive a request from a second node of a network of nodes that have access to one or more of a distributed ledger or a distributed file system,
wherein the network of nodes includes the first node;
identify, based on the request, targeting information, for distributing particular information, by interacting with a set of smart contracts associated with one or more of the distributed ledger or the distributed file system; and
provide the targeting information.
30 . The first node of claim 29 , wherein the request includes one or more of:
a first parameter indicating a mode of communication that is to be used to distribute the particular information, or a second parameter indicating a duration for distributing the particular information.
31 . The first node of claim 30 ,
wherein the request includes the first parameter, and wherein the first parameter indicating that the particular information is to be distributed via e-mail but not via a short message service (SMS) message or telephone.
32 . The first node of claim 29 , wherein the one or more processors, to provide the targeting information, are configured to:
provide the targeting information to the second node.
33 . The first node of claim 29 ,
wherein the set of smart contracts are associated with the distributed ledger, and wherein the one or more processors are further configured to:
broadcast an update to the second node and one or more other nodes of the network of nodes when a change is made to the distributed ledger.
34 . The first node of claim 29 , wherein the set of smart contracts include one or more smart contacts including preferences of individuals regarding whether personal information is to be share or when the personal information is shareable.
35 . The first node of claim 29 ,
wherein the set of smart contracts are associated with the distributed ledger, and wherein the distributed ledger is a tamper-resistant data structure and uses cryptographic links between blocks of the distributed ledger.
36 . The first node of claim 29 , wherein the one or more processors, to identify the targeting information, are configured to:
provide a plurality of parameters included in the request as input to one or more smart contracts of the set of smart contracts; receive, as output from the one or more smart contracts, an encrypted identifier that identifies a storage location within the distributed file system; and identify, using the encrypted identifier, the targeting information by obtaining an e-mail address or a telephone number from the storage location within the distributed file system.
37 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing a set of instructions, the set of instructions comprising:
one or more instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of a first node of a network of nodes that have access to one or more of a distributed ledger or a distributed file system, cause the first node to:
receive a request from a second node of the network of nodes;
identify, based on the request, targeting information, for distributing particular information, using a set of smart contracts associated with one or more of the distributed ledger or the distributed file system; and
provide the targeting information to a device that uses the targeting information to distribute the particular information using a short message service (SMS) or e-mail service.
38 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 37 , wherein the request includes a parameter indicating a duration for distributing the particular information.
39 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 37 , wherein the request includes a parameter indicating that the particular information is to be distributed via e-mail but not via an SMS message or telephone.
40 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 37 , wherein the device is the second node.Cited by (0)
