Removable sensor payload system for unmanned aerial vehicle performing media capture and property analysis
Abstract
An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) may couple to a sensor payload device that includes cameras, radar, lidar, and/or other sensors. The UAV, coupled to the sensor payload device, may fly within the airspace of and/or around a property and capture images and/or sensor measurements of the property. The images and sensor measurements may be certified so that they may be verified as unaltered by viewers. A 3D representation of the property may be generated, and defects in the property may be detected by comparing the 3D representation to media depicting property defects. A report identifying the defects may be generated.

2 . A method of content processing using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), the method comprising:
receiving, from a media creation device of the UAV, at least one digital media asset created using the media creation device of the UAV, the at least one digital media asset representing at least a subset of a property; receiving, from a positioning sensor of the UAV, at least one location of the UAV associated with creation of the at least one digital media asset using the media creation device of the UAV; analyzing the at least one digital media asset to identify at least one defect in the property represented in the at least one digital media asset; analyzing the at least one digital media asset and the at least one location of the UAV to identify at least one location of the at least one defect in the property; comparing the at least one digital media asset to previously stored media representing different defect types to identify at least one defect type of the at least one defect in the property; and outputting a report, the report identifying the at least one defect in the property, the at least one location of the at least one defect in the property, and the at least one defect type of the at least one defect in the property.
3 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising:
combining information identifying the at least one defect in the property, the at least one location of the at least one defect in the property, and the at least one defect type of the at least one defect in the property to generate the report.
4 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the report includes a first digital media asset of the at least one digital media asset, the first digital media asset representing the at least one defect in the property.
5 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the at least one location of the UAV includes at least one altitude of the UAV, and wherein the at least one location of the at least one defect in the property includes at least one altitude of the at least one defect in the property.
6 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising:
analyzing the at least one digital media asset and the at least one location of the UAV to generate a three-dimensional model of at least one portion of the property, wherein the at least one portion of the property includes the at least one defect in the property.
7 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the report includes a representation of the three-dimensional model of the at least one portion of the property.
8 . The method of claim 2 , wherein outputting the report includes transmitting the report to a device.
9 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the device is a server of a cloud storage system that is configured to provide access to the report to at least one client device, and wherein transmitting the report to the server is performed in real-time after receiving the at least one digital media asset and receiving the at least one location of the UAV.
10 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising:
analyzing the at least one digital media asset and the at least one location of the UAV to identify a range from the UAV to the at least one defect in the property, wherein the at least one location of the at least one defect in the property is based on the range.
11 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the at least one digital media asset includes an image of at least the subset of the property, and wherein the media creation device of the UAV includes a camera configured to capture the image.
12 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the previously stored media representing the different defect types includes previously stored images depicting the different defect types.
13 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the at least one digital media asset includes a video, wherein the image is a video frame of the video, and wherein the media creation device of the UAV includes a camera configured to capture the video.
14 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the at least one digital media asset includes a point cloud representation at least the subset of the property, and wherein the media creation device of the UAV includes a range sensor configured to capture range measurements to create the point cloud representation.
15 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising:
receiving, from a second media creation device of the UAV, at least one secondary digital media asset created using the second media creation device of the UAV, the at least one secondary digital media asset representing at least a second subset of a property; receiving, from the positioning sensor of the UAV, at least one secondary location of the UAV associated with creation of the at least one secondary digital media asset using the second media creation device of the UAV, wherein identifying the at least one defect in the property is also based on analyzing the at least one secondary digital media asset, wherein identifying the at least one location of the at least one defect in the property is also based on analyzing the at least one secondary digital media asset and the at least one secondary location of the UAV.
16 . The method of claim 15 , wherein identifying the at least one defect type of the at least one defect in the property is also based on comparing the at least one secondary digital media asset to the previously stored media representing different defect types.
17 . The method of claim 15 , wherein the report includes a first digital media asset of the at least one secondary digital media asset, the first digital media asset representing the at least one defect in the property.
18 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising:
generating a digital signature associated with creation of the at least one digital media asset using the at least one media creation device of the UAV, the digital signature operable as an indicator of authenticity of the at least one digital media asset.
19 . The method of claim 18 , wherein the report includes information identifying the authenticity of the at least one digital media asset based on a verification of the authenticity of the at least one digital media asset using the digital signature.
20 . The method of claim 18 , wherein the report includes the digital signature.
21 . A system for content processing using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), the system comprising:
at least one memory; and at least one processor coupled to the at least one memory and configured to:
receive, from a media creation device of the UAV, at least one digital media asset created using the media creation device of the UAV, the at least one digital media asset representing at least a subset of a property;
receive, from a positioning sensor of the UAV, at least one location of the UAV associated with creation of the at least one digital media asset using the media creation device of the UAV;
analyze the at least one digital media asset to identify at least one defect in the property represented in the at least one digital media asset;
analyze the at least one digital media asset and the at least one location of the UAV to identify at least one location of the at least one defect in the property;
compare the at least one digital media asset to previously stored media representing different defect types to identify at least one defect type of the at least one defect in the property; and
