System and method for automatically generating a new portion of a photo product design based on user input portion
Abstract
A computer-implemented method for creating a photo product design with minimal user inputs includes generating a first portion of a photo product design by a product design module in response to user input, determining one or more layout parameters from the user input to the first portion of the photo product design by a user design learning module, automatically creating a second portion of the photo product design by an intelligent product creation engine at least in part in response to the one or more layout parameters, and automatically making a physical photo product based on at least the first portion and the second portion of the photo product design.

18 . A method for creating a photo product, the method comprising:
receiving user selections of two or more photos and positions for placement of the two or more photos on a first page of a whole photo product design having a plurality of pages; generating, based on the received user selections, a partial photo product design of the whole photo product design that includes the first page with the two or more photos placed at the positions on the first page; providing the partial photo product design as machine learning input; automatically determining an event associated with the partial photo product design based on the two or more photos; and selecting, based on the event, photos to include on the plurality of pages in the whole photo product.
19 . The method of claim 18 , further comprising:
automatically generating and providing as machine learning output a plurality of selectable design options for at least one other page in the plurality of pages, wherein each of the plurality of selectable design options includes photos from the selected photos based on the event and different positions for placement of photos on the at least one other page, and the plurality of selectable design options are generated based on learning from the partial photo product design, including learning from the received user selections of the two or more photos and the positions for placement of the two or more photos on the first page.
20 . The method of claim 19 , further comprising:
receiving a selection of one of the plurality of selectable design options.
21 . The method of claim 20 , further comprising:
including the selected design option for the at least one other page in the remaining photo product design of the whole photo product design.
22 . The method of claim 21 , further comprising:
automatically making a physical photo product including photos of the event based at least in part on the whole photo product design.
23 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the whole product design is multiple pages.
24 . The method of claim 23 , further comprising:
automatically generating and providing as machine learning output a plurality of selectable design options for the multiple pages.
25 . The method of claim 19 , wherein the learning from the partial photo product design comprises:
automatically determining, based at least in part on the event, one or more layout parameters in the partial photo product design, wherein the plurality of selectable design options are generated based on further learning from the one or more layout parameters.

The method of claim 18 , wherein the event is determined based at least in part on metadata stored in association with the two or more photos selected by the user for placement on the first page, wherein the metadata is related to time, location, keyword, title of a photo album, or text caption associated with the photos.
27 . The method of claim 18 , wherein the event is defined and stored in an event library.
28 . A system for creating a photo product, the system comprising:
a data storage device for storing data; and a processor that executes the data to cause the system to:
receive user selections of two or more photos and positions for placement of the two or more photos on a first page of a whole photo product design having a plurality of pages;
generate, based on the received user selections, a partial photo product design of the whole photo product design that includes the first page with the two or more photos placed at the positions on the first page;
provide the partial photo product design as machine learning input;
automatically determine an event associated with the partial photo product design based on the two or more photos; and
select, based on the event, photos to include on the plurality of pages in the whole photo product.
29 . The system of claim 28 , wherein the data further causes the system to:
automatically generate and provide as machine learning output a plurality of selectable design options for at least one other page in the plurality of pages, wherein each of the plurality of selectable design options includes photos from the selected photos based on the event and different positions for placement of photos on the at least one other page, and the plurality of selectable design options are generated based on learning from the partial photo product design, including learning from the received user selections of the two or more photos and the positions for placement of the two or more photos on the first page.
30 . The system of claim 29 , wherein the data further causes the system to:
receive a selection of one of the plurality of selectable design options.
31 . The system of claim 30 , wherein the data further causes the system to:
include the selected design option for the at least one other page in the remaining photo product design of the whole photo product design.
32 . The system of claim 31 , wherein the data further causes the system to:
automatically make a physical photo product including photos of the event based at least in part on the whole photo product design.
33 . The system of claim 29 , wherein the data that causes the system to learn from the partial photo product design further causes the system to:
automatically generate and provide as machine learning output a plurality of selectable design options for multiple pages within the whole product design.
34 . The system of claim 29 , wherein the data that causes the system to learn from the partial photo product design further causes the system to:
automatically determine, based at least in part on the event, one or more layout parameters in the partial photo product design, wherein the plurality of selectable design options are generated based on further learning from the one or more layout parameters.

The system of claim 28 , wherein the event is determined based at least in part on metadata stored in association with the two or more photos selected by the user for placement on the first page, wherein the metadata is related to time, location, keyword, title of a photo album, or text caption associated with the photos.
36 . The system of claim 28 , wherein the event is defined and stored in an event library.
37 . A computer-readable non-transitory memory storing data that, when executed by a processor of a computer, causes the computer to:
