Abstract

A video collection system comprising a body-wearable video camera, a camera dock, and a video collection manager. The camera dock is configured to interface with the body-wearable video camera having a camera-memory element. The camera dock includes a dock-memory element configured to receive and store video data from the camera-memory element. The video collection manager is communicatively coupled with the camera dock. The camera dock sends at least a portion of the video data to the video collection manager.

         2 . The video collection and storage device of claim 1 , wherein the at least one criterion includes a beacon indication, a mark indication, a location indication, a location tracking indication, a speed indication, a loud noise indication, or a time indication.

         3 . The video collection and storage device of claim 2 ,
 wherein the at least one criterion is associated with a triggering event indication of a triggering event included in the set of metadata, wherein transferring and storing of the set of video data at the video camera is initiated by the triggering event.

         4 . The video collection and storage device of claim 1 ,
 further comprising an electrical contact disposed on the camera dock, and where the subset of video data is transferred to the at least one dock memory unit via the electrical contact on the camera dock when the video camera is disposed in the camera dock.

         5 . The video collection and storage device of claim 1 , further comprising at least one wireless communication device for communicating with a plurality of video collection and storage devices.

         6 . The video collection and storage device of claim 5 , wherein the method further comprises communicating with the video camera via the at least one wireless communication device to transfer of the subset of video data.

         7 . The video collection and storage device of claim 1 , wherein the method further comprises reducing a size of the sub-subset of the video data by reducing an amount of frames of the sub-subset of the video data or reducing a resolution of the sub-subset of the video data.

         8 . A video collection and storage device comprising:
 a camera dock; at least one dock processing element; and at least one dock memory unit comprising one or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing computer-executable instructions that, when executed by the at least one dock processing element, perform a method of obtaining and analyzing a set of video data, the method comprising:
 obtaining, from a video camera, a set of metadata indicative of the set of video data stored on the video camera;
 analyzing the set of metadata to determine a sub-set of video data of the set of video data to be transferred to and stored by the at least one dock memory unit;
 transferring and storing the sub-set of the video data to the at least one dock memory unit;
 obtaining at least one criterion from a video collection manager;
 selecting a sub-subset of the video data by analyzing the sub-set of the video data and the at least one criterion; and
 transferring the sub-subset of the video data to the video collection manager.

         9 . The video collection and storage device of claim 8 , wherein the at least one criterion includes a beacon indication, a mark indication, a location indication, a location tracking indication, a speed indication, a loud noise indication, or a time indication.

         10 . The video collection and storage device of claim 9 ,
 wherein the at least one criterion is associated with an indication of a triggering event included in the set of metadata as the beacon indication, the mark indication, the location indication, a location tracking indication, a speed indication, a loud noise indication, or the time indication, wherein the set of video data is stored responsive to the triggering event.

         11 . The video collection and storage device of claim 8 ,
 further comprising an electrical contact disposed on the camera dock, wherein the sub-set of the video data is transferred via the electrical contact disposed on the camera dock when the video camera is disposed in the camera dock.

         12 . The video collection and storage device of claim 8 , further comprising at least one wireless communication device for communicating with at least one other video collection and storage devices and the video camera.

         13 . The video collection and storage device of claim 8 , wherein the method further comprises reducing a size of the sub-subset of the video data by reducing an amount of frames of the sub-subset of the video data or reducing a resolution of the sub-subset of the video data.

         14 . One or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing computer-executable instructions that, when executed by at least one dock processing element, perform a method of obtaining and analyzing a set of video data, the method comprising:
