Abstract
A method for treating tissue through a branched luminal network of a patient is provided. A pathway to a point of interest in branched luminal network of a patient is generated. An extended working channel is advanced transorally into the branched luminal network and along the pathway to the point of interest. The extended working channel may be positioned in a substantially fixed orientation at the point interest. A tool is advanced though the extended working channel to the point of interest. Tissue at the point of interest is treated.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 17 . (canceled)
18 . A system, comprising:
an ablation device configured to deliver electrosurgical energy to tissue; a catheter including a lumen configured to receive the ablation device for positioning the ablation device within a patient, the catheter including a probe configured to facilitate navigation of the catheter within the patient; and a locatable guide configured to be inserted through the lumen of the catheter, the locatable guide including an electromagnetic sensor for electromagnetically tracking a position of the locatable guide within the patient.
19 . The system according to claim 18 , wherein the electromagnetic sensor is configured to project from a distal tip of the catheter during navigation of the catheter within the patient.
20 . The system according to claim 18 , further comprising an electrosurgical energy source configured to couple to the ablation device.
21 . The system according to claim 18 , wherein the catheter includes a closed distal end.
22 . The system according to claim 18 , wherein the ablation device includes an inner conductor, an outer conductor, and a balun electrically coupled to the outer conductor.
23 . The system according to claim 18 , wherein the locatable guide is configured to be removed from the lumen after navigation of the catheter and the locatable guide to a target within the patient and the ablation device is configured, while the catheter is within the patient, to be inserted through the lumen and positioned at the target after removal of the locatable guide from the lumen.
24 . The system according to claim 18 , wherein the ablation device includes a temperature sensor configured to sense a temperature of the ablation device.
25 . The system according to claim 18 , wherein the ablation device includes a fluid chamber configured to receive a cooling fluid.
26 . A system, comprising:
an ablation device configured to deliver electrosurgical energy to tissue; a catheter including a lumen configured to receive the ablation device for positioning the ablation device within a patient, the catheter including a probe configured to facilitate navigation of the catheter within the patient; and a locatable guide configured to be inserted through the lumen of the catheter for navigating the catheter within the patient.
27 . The system according to claim 26 , wherein the locatable guide is configured to project from a distal tip of the catheter during navigation of the catheter within the patient.
28 . The system according to claim 26 , further comprising an electrosurgical energy source configured to couple to the ablation device.
29 . The system according to claim 26 , wherein the catheter includes a closed distal end.
30 . The system according to claim 26 , wherein the ablation device includes an inner conductor, an outer conductor, and a balun electrically coupled to the outer conductor.
31 . The system according to claim 26 , wherein the locatable guide is configured to be removed from the lumen after navigation of the catheter and the locatable guide to a target within the patient and the ablation device is configured, while the catheter is within the patient, to be inserted through the lumen and positioned at the target after removal of the locatable guide from the lumen.
32 . The system according to claim 26 , wherein the ablation device includes a temperature sensor configured to sense a temperature of the ablation device.
33 . The system according to claim 26 , wherein the locatable guide includes an electromagnetic sensor for electromagnetically tracking a position of the locatable guide within the patient.
34 . The system according to claim 26 , wherein the ablation device includes a fluid chamber configured to receive a cooling fluid.
35 . A system, comprising:
a catheter including a lumen configured to receive an ablation device for positioning the ablation device within a patient; a probe disposed on the catheter for facilitating navigation of the catheter within the patient; a locatable guide configured to be inserted through the lumen of the catheter; and an electromagnetic sensor disposed on the locatable guide for electromagnetically tracking a position of the locatable guide within the patient.
36 . The system according to claim 35 , wherein the electromagnetic sensor is configured to project from a distal tip of the catheter during navigation of the catheter within the patient.
37 . The system according to claim 35 , wherein the catheter includes a closed distal end.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
