Liner system and method

Abstract

A lock ring including a tubular body having an inside surface and an outside surface, an expandable threadform on the inside surface, a wicker on the outside surface. An anchor for a liner including a tubular body having an inside surface transitioning from a first diameter to a second diameter and an outside surface, an expandable threadform on one of the first and second diameter surfaces, and a wicker on the outside surface. A threadform for expansion duty including a thread configured to maintain, during expansion, engagement at a flank thereof of at least about 50 percent of a height of the thread measured from root to crown and a crown width of about 20 to about 50 percent of thread height.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A lock ring comprising:
 a tubular body having an inside surface and an outside surface;   an expandable threadform on the inside surface;   a wicker on the outside surface.   
     
     
         2 . The lock ring as claimed in  claim 1  wherein the wicker is hardened. 
     
     
         3 . The lock ring as claimed in  claim 1  wherein the wicker is a plurality of wickers. 
     
     
         4 . The lock ring as claimed in  claim 1  wherein the tubular body is hardened. 
     
     
         5 . The lock ring as claimed in  claim 1  wherein the threadform includes a thread having a crown width equal to about 20 to about 50 percent of a total height of the thread from root to crown. 
     
     
         6 . An anchor for a liner comprising:
 a tubular body having an inside surface transitioning from a first diameter to a second diameter and an outside surface; and   an expandable threadform on one of the first and second diameter surfaces;   a wicker on the outside surface.   
     
     
         7 . The anchor as claimed in  claim 6  wherein the threadform includes a thread having a crown width equal to about 20 to about 50 percent of a total height of the thread from root to crown. 
     
     
         8 . The anchor as claimed in  claim 6  wherein the body is unhardened. 
     
     
         9 . The anchor as claimed in  claim 6  wherein the wicker is unhardened. 
     
     
         10 . The anchor as claimed in  claim 6  further including a polished bore receptacle therein. 
     
     
         11 . A threadform for expansion duty comprising:
 a thread configured to maintain, during expansion, engagement at a flank thereof of at least about 50 percent of a height of the thread measured from root to crown and a crown width of about 20 to about 50 percent of thread height.   
     
     
         12 . A liner system comprising:
 a liner;   a lock ring disposed on the liner in contact with a slip subsystem;   an anchor disposed on the liner in a position uphole of the lock ring when the system is oriented for use in a borehole.
