Medical Glove Anti-Slip and Fluid Guard Band

Abstract

An elastic band for attachment over the juncture of a surgical glove and sleeve of a surgical gown is disclosed. The elastic band has an abrasive inner surface in contact with the juncture to limit movement of the band relative to the juncture. A circumferential portion of the inner surface is concave. The hand may be of variable circumferences to fit the user, adjusting to the size of the user's wrist.

A band configured to be used as a separate product with a medical glove; the band being in the form of a closed loop, said band made from an elastic material having a diameter in its lax form smaller than the circumference of the forearm of the user and stretchable so as to permit the band to fit over the hand and forearm of the user and resistant to glove slippage and liquid from having access to the interior of the glove, the inner surface of said band having a circumferential concave segment. 
     
     
         2 . The band of  claim 1  in which the inner surface is at least partially covered in adhesive. 
     
     
         3 . The band of  claim 1  in which at least a portion of the inner surface is roughened. 
     
     
         4 . A band configured to be used as a separate product with a medical glove; the band being in the form of a closed flat loop having an inner and an outer portion, said band made from an elastic material having a diameter in its lax form smaller than the circumference of the forearm of the user and stretchable so as to permit the band to fit over the hand and forearm of the user and resistant to glove slippage and liquid from having access to the interior of the glove, the inner and/or outer portions at least partially covered by adhesive. 
     
     
         5 . The band of  claim 4  in which the inner portion has a circumferential concave segment. 
     
     
         6 . A band configured to be used with a medical glove in the form of an elongated elastic member having attaching means for permitting the ends of said elongated elastic member to have its ends attached to form a closed band, the band having a diameter in its lax form smaller than the circumference of the forearm of the user. 
     
     
         7 . The band of  claim 6  in which the band has an inner surface and an outer surface of the elongated elastic member is a least partially covered with adhesive. 
     
     
         8 . The band of  claim 6  in which said attaching means are is a hook and loop members. 
     
     
         9 . The band of  claim 6  in which said attaching means is adhesive.
