Claims

Abstract

A fan motor includes a housing, a rotating shaft that is rotatably disposed in the housing and extends through the housing, an impeller rotatably disposed at the rotating shaft, a first vane disposed adjacent to the impeller and configured to guide a flow of air generated by the impeller, a rotor disposed at the rotating shaft and spaced apart from the impeller in an axial direction of the rotating shaft, a stator that is disposed in the housing and surrounds the rotor, the stator and the rotor defining an air gap therebetween, and a second vane coupled to the stator and disposed downstream relative to the first vane in a flow direction of the flow of air. The second vane is in contact with at least a part of an inner surface of the housing.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A fan motor, comprising:
 a housing;   a rotating shaft disposed in the housing;   an impeller rotatably coupled to one end of the rotating shaft and configured to generate a flow of air;   a rotor coupled to the rotating shaft and spaced apart from the impeller in an axial direction of the rotating shaft;   a stator disposed in the housing and surrounding the rotor, the stator and the rotor defining an air gap therebetween; and   a plurality of vanes disposed downstream of the impeller in a flow direction of the flow of air and configured to guide the flow of the air, the plurality of vanes comprising:
 a first vane disposed between the impeller and the stator, and 
 a second vane disposed downstream of the first vane in the flow direction of the flow of air and surrounding the stator, 
   wherein air introduced into one end of the housing flows out to the other end of the housing via the impeller, the first vane, and the second vane.   
     
     
         2 . The fan motor of  claim 1 , wherein the first vane comprises:
 a first vane hub that (i) has a cylindrical shape, (ii) is spaced radially inward from an inner circumferential surface of the housing, and (iii) defines a flow path of the air, and   a plurality of vane blades that protrude from an outer circumferential surface of the first vane hub, and   
       wherein the second vane comprises:
 a second vane hub that (i) has a cylindrical shape, (ii) is spaced radially inward from the inner circumferential surface of the housing, and (iii) defines a flow path of the air, and 
 a plurality of heat dissipation fins protruding from an outer circumferential surface of the second vane hub to come into contact with the inner circumferential surface of the housing. 
 
     
     
         3 . The fan motor of  claim 2 , wherein the housing has a cylindrical shape,
 wherein the first vane hub and the second vane hub have the same diameter, and   wherein the air flow path extends along an axial direction parallel to the rotating shaft.   
     
     
         4 . The fan motor of  claim 2 , wherein an axial length of the second vane hub is longer than an axial length of the first vane hub. 
     
     
         5 . The fan motor of  claim 2 , wherein each of the plurality of heat dissipation fins extends along a spiral direction from an outer circumferential surface of the second vane hub. 
     
     
         6 . The fan motor of  claim 1 , wherein the second vane is made of a metal material, and
 wherein the second vane is in contact with the housing and the stator to thereby transfer heat generated in the stator to the housing.   
     
     
         7 . The fan motor of  claim 2 , further comprising:
 a plurality of bearings rotatably supporting both ends of the rotating shaft with the rotor interposed therebetween, the plurality of bearings comprising:
 a first bearing disposed on one side of the rotor adjacent to the impeller; and 
 a second bearing disposed on another side of the rotor; and 
   a bearing housing that receives and supports the first bearing, the bearing housing being disposed inside and supporting the first vane.   
     
     
         8 . The fan motor of  claim 7 , wherein the second vane comprises:
 a plurality of seating portion protruding from one end of the second vane hub toward the bearing housing and coupled to the bearing housing.   
     
     
         9 . The fan motor of  claim 7 , wherein the bearing housing comprises:
 a body having a cylindrical shape;   a plurality of vane coupling portions extending in an axial direction along an outer circumferential surface of the body; and   a plurality of holes arranged circumferentially along an outer circumferential surface of the body between the plurality of vane coupling portions.   
     
     
         10 . The fan motor of  claim 9 , wherein the body supports the first vane, and
 wherein an impeller seating portion having a predetermined area is defined at an upper portion of the body.   
     
     
         11 . The fan motor of  claim 9 , wherein the bearing housing comprises:
 a bearing support portion having a ring shape to seat the first bearing at a center portion of the body and extending in the axial direction.   
     
     
         12 . The fan motor of  claim 7 , further comprising:
 a sub-bearing housing coupled to a lower portion of the housing and disposed downstream of the second vane in the air flow direction; and   a second bearing support portion extending in the axial direction and provided at a central portion of the sub-bearing housing to accommodate the second bearing therein.   
     
     
         13 . The fan motor of  claim 7 , further comprising:
 a protrusion protruding radially inward from an inner circumferential surface of the second vane hub,   wherein the stator is coupled to an inside of the second vane hub and supported by the protrusion.   
     
     
         14 . The fan motor of  claim 2 , wherein the plurality of heat dissipation fins are configured to guide the flow of air away from the impeller. 
     
     
         15 . The fan motor of  claim 14 , wherein each of the plurality of heat dissipation fins are inclined with respect to the axial direction at a predetermined angle such that air is introduced into the housing toward the impeller based on the impeller being rotated.
