Abstract
Inflatable compression devices are disclosed. In some embodiments the devices provide compression to the torso of a patient, including at a pocket configured to receive a pacing device. In some embodiments at least one securing strap is displaceable with respect to a compression member. In some embodiments a compression member is displaceable relative to at least one securing strap.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 20 . (canceled)
21 . An inflatable compression device, comprising:
a compression member configured to be coupled to a patient so as to apply compression to a compression site of the patient, the compression member comprising an inflatable bladder, wherein a level of compression is at least partially defined by an inflation pressure within the bladder; and a securement system comprising:
a collar coupled to the compression member; and
one or more straps coupleable to the collar,
wherein the securement system is configured to define a downward force of the compression member.
22 . The compression device of claim 21 , wherein the compression device is configured to apply compression to a compression site located on a torso of the patient.
23 . The compression device of claim 21 , wherein the compression member comprises an elongate shape so as to apply compression to an elongate compression site.
24 . The compression device of claim 21 , wherein compression member defines a window to facilitate visual observance of the compression site.
25 . The compression device of claim 21 , wherein the bladder is transparent.
26 . The compression device of claim 21 ,
wherein the compression member further comprises a top plate and an inflation port, wherein the inflation port is coupled to a top surface of the top plate and the bladder is coupled to a bottom surface of the top plate, and wherein the inflation port is in fluid communication with the bladder.
27 . The compression device of claim 26 , wherein the top plate and the bladder define a window to facilitate visual observance of the compression site.
28 . The compression device of claim 26 , wherein the inflation port is coupled to the top plate via a tube, and
wherein the inflation port and the tube are disposed substantially parallel to the top plate.
29 . The compression device of claim 21 , further comprising a therapeutic substance disposed on an outside surface of the bladder so as to be in contact with skin of the patient.
30 . The compression device of claim 21 , wherein the collar is coupled to a circumference of the compression member and extends radially away from the compression member.
31 . The compression device of claim 21 , wherein the one or more straps comprises a first strap configured to extend around the torso of the patient and a second strap configured to extend over a shoulder of the patient.
32 . The compression device of claim 31 , wherein the first strap is attachable to the collar at a plurality of locations along the first strap such that a length of the first strap extending around the torso is adjustable, and
wherein the second strap is attachable to the collar at a plurality of locations along the second strap such that a length of the second strap extending over the shoulder is adjustable.
33 . An inflatable compression device, comprising:
a compression member configured to be coupled to a patient so as to apply compression to a compression site of the patient, the compression member comprising an inflatable bladder, wherein a level of compression is at least partially defined by an inflation pressure within the bladder; and a securement system comprising a collar coupled to the compression member and one or more straps coupleable to the collar, wherein the securement system is configured to define a downward force of the compression member.
34 . The inflatable compression device of claim 33 , wherein the one or more straps comprises a first strap configured to extend around a torso of the patient and a second strap configured to extend over a shoulder of the patient.
35 . The inflatable compression device of claim 34 ,
wherein the first strap is attachable to the collar at a plurality of locations along the first strap such that a length of the first strap extending around the torso is adjustable; and wherein the second strap is attachable to the collar at a plurality of locations along the second strap such that a length of the second strap extending over the shoulder is adjustable.
36 . The inflatable compression device of claim 34 , wherein the first strap and the second strap are attachable to the collar at any of a plurality of locations around the collar.
37 . The inflatable compression device of claim 34 , wherein the collar comprises a hook component of a hook-and-loop fastening mechanism, and
wherein each of the first strap and the second strap comprises a loop component of the hook-and-loop fastening mechanism.
38 . The inflatable compression device of claim 37 ,
wherein the second strap further comprises the hook component of the hook-and-loop fastening mechanism; and wherein the second strap is coupleable to the first strap.
39 . A method of applying compression to a compression site located on a torso of a patient, comprising:
providing a compression device comprising:
an inflatable compression member; and
a securement system configured to secure the compression member to the patient;
placing the compression member over the compression site while visually observing the compression site through a window of the compression member; securing the compression member to the patient, wherein securing the compression member to the patient comprises extending a first strap of the securement system around a torso of the patient and coupling the first strap to the compression member; and inflating the compression member so as to establish a desired compression on the compression site.
40 . The method of claim 17 , wherein securing the compression member to the patient further comprises extending a second strap of the securement system over a shoulder of the patient and coupling the second strap to the compression member and to the first strap.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
