Abstract
Provided herein are ablation systems having an ablation component with an ablation chamber and an insulation chamber, wherein the ablation chamber comprises a plurality of channels defined there. Other embodiments include ablation systems having a substrate source, a cooling component, and an ablation component. Certain systems are closed-loop systems that reuse the cooling substrate.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A fluid cooling device comprising:
(a) an elongate body comprising a lumen defined therein; (b) a first restrictor body disposed within the lumen, the first restrictor body comprising:
(i) a first wall extending radially across a diameter of the lumen; and
(ii) a first opening defined in the first wall, the first opening having a first diameter;
(c) a second restrictor body disposed adjacent to and distal of the first restrictor body within the lumen, the second restrictor body comprising:
(i) a second wall extending radially across the diameter of the lumen; and
(ii) a second opening defined in the second wall, the second opening having a second diameter that is larger than the first diameter,
wherein fluid is urged through the lumen such that the fluid decreases in temperature and expands as it passes through the first opening and such that the fluid further decreases in temperature and expands as it passes through the second opening.
2 . The fluid cooling device of claim 1 , wherein the decrease in temperature is determined by the size of the first diameter and the second diameter.
3 . The fluid cooling device of claim 1 , wherein each of the first and second restrictor bodies has an axial length of less than about 0.25 inches.
4 . The fluid cooling device of claim 1 , wherein each of the first and second restrictor bodies has an outer diameter of about 0.25 inches.
5 . The fluid cooling device of claim 1 , further comprising a third restrictor body disposed within the lumen, the third restrictor body comprising:
(a) a third wall extending radially across the diameter of the lumen; and (b) a third opening defined in the third wall, the third opening having a third diameter that is larger than the second diameter, wherein the fluid decreases in temperature and expands as it passes through the third opening.
6 . The fluid cooling device of claim 5 , further comprising a fourth restrictor body disposed within the lumen, the fourth restrictor body comprising:
(a) a fourth wall extending radially across the diameter of the lumen; and (b) a fourth opening defined in the fourth wall, the fourth opening having a fourth diameter that is larger than the third diameter, wherein the fluid decreases in temperature and expands as it passes through the fourth opening.
7 . The fluid cooling device of claim 6 , further comprising a fifth restrictor body disposed within the lumen, the fifth restrictor body comprising:
(a) a fifth wall extending radially across the diameter of the lumen; and (b) a fifth opening defined in the fifth wall, the fifth opening having a fifth diameter that is larger than the fourth diameter, wherein the fluid decreases in temperature and expands as it passes through the fifth opening.Cited by (0)
