Abstract
It is an object to improve usability at the time of photographing or reproducing in an imaging apparatus including a plurality of imaging units. In order to achieve the above object, an imaging apparatus including a plurality of imaging units includes a setting unit that sets a plurality of photographing modes which are settable in advance, a unit that controls a plurality of imaging units in accordance with a set photographing mode, and a manipulation unit. Accordingly, it is possible to provide an imaging apparatus with excellent usability capable of controlling a plurality of imaging units independently or simultaneously such that imaging is performed with a simple manipulation when a desired photographing mode is selected by a user.

An imaging apparatus, comprising: a first imaging unit; a second imaging unit; a display unit; an image signal processing circuit; a control circuit; a manipulation unit; a mode setting unit; and a recording unit, wherein the first imaging unit and the second imaging unit are arranged at a predetermined interval to perform imaging in the same direction, the image signal processing circuit generates a first image signal from a signal captured by the first imaging unit, generates a second image signal from a signal captured by the second imaging unit, and generates a third signal from the signal captured by the first imaging unit and the signal captured by the second imaging unit, the control circuit controls the first imaging unit, the second imaging unit, the image signal processing circuit, and the recording unit in response to a single imaging manipulation performed by the manipulation unit in accordance with a plurality of photographing modes which are settable in advance in accordance with an input from the mode setting unit, and the plurality of photographing modes include a photographing mode in which the first image signal is recorded, a mode in which the first image signal and the second image signal are recorded, and a mode in which the third signal is recorded.
