Abstract
In an example, the present technique includes a method for capturing information from a spatial region to monitor human activities and create a spatial map of the spatial region. In an example, the technique allows a user of a cell phone to move from one location to another location and be tracked using rf backscattering, and each location being identified by the user by communicating a label via a cell phone or other mobile device.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method for creating a spatial heat map of one or more objects in an area, the method comprising:
emitting an electromagnetic RF signal into the area; a back scattered RF signal, using at least one RF antenna, from the one or more objects in the area; identifying a first event associated with the area based upon the detected RF backscattered signal; and mapping the first event onto a digitized representation of the area.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the area includes a bedroom, bathroom, living room, hallway, and a door.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more objects include a chair, table, toilet, and door.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more objects include a bed.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the creating the heat map is repeated for multiple time periods.
6 . The method of claim 5 , further comprising labeling subregions of the area based on the created heat maps during the multiple time periods.
7 . The method of claim 6 , further comprising labelling a subregion as a bedroom based on a heat map created during a nighttime period.
8 . The method of claim 7 , further comprising labelling a subregion as a bathroom based on the heat map created during the nighttime period, wherein the heat map shows more time spent in the bedroom than the bathroom.
9 . The method of claim 6 , further comprising labeling a subregion as a living room based on an area of the heat map created during an evening time period showing a most time spent.
10 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising labeling a subregion as a hallway as shown as a corridor in the created spatial heat map.
11 . A system for creating a spatial heat map of one or more objects in an area, comprising:
at least one processor; a radio frequency module, coupled to the at least one processor, comprising at least one antenna configured to receive back scattered electromagnetic radiation signals from the one or more objects in area, and transmit information associated with the back scattered electromagnetic radiation signals to the at least one processor; and a memory comprising instructions to cause the at least one processor to execute a method, the method comprising: identifying a first event in the area based upon the received electromagnetic radiation signals back scattered signals; and mapping the first event onto a digitized representation of the area.
12 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the area includes a bedroom, bathroom, living room, hallway, door and a plurality of objects.
13 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the one or more objects include a chair, table, toilet, and door.
14 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the one or more objects include a bed.
15 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the creating the heat map is repeated for multiple time periods.
16 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the method further comprises labeling subregions of the area based on the created heat maps during the multiple time periods.
17 . The system of claim 16 , wherein the method further comprises labelling a subregion as a bedroom based on a heat map created during a nighttime period.
18 . The system of claim 17 , wherein the method further comprises labelling a subregion as a bathroom based on the heat map created during the nighttime period, wherein the heat map shows more time spent in the bedroom than the bathroom.
19 . The system of claim 16 , wherein the method further comprises labeling a subregion as a living room based on an area of the heat map created during an evening time period showing a most time spent.
20 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the method further comprises labeling a subregion as a hallway as shown as a corridor in the created spatial heat map.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
