Abstract

An integrated ceiling device includes integrated ceiling device including an electronic device housing, a heat dissipating structure, a light source, and a reflection/refraction assembly. An air gap is defined between the electronics housing and other components allowing ambient air to flow therethrough for cooling.

1 . An intelligent ceiling mounted lighting system comprising:
 a heat dissipating structure;   a light source that emits light to a room below, the light source being coupled to the heat dissipating structure;   a device housing that is coupled to the heat dissipating structure and includes therein electronic circuitry, the electronic circuitry in electrical communication with at least one electrical device coupled to the heat dissipating structure;   a non-transitory computer readable memory that holds computer readable code therein,   a communications transceiver that communicates with remote devices that are external to the intelligent ceiling mounted lighting system,   and   a processor that, upon execution of the computer readable code, is configured to collect data from a plurality of sensors,   implement a self learning module that is trained from the data provided from the plurality of sensors, the self-learning module is configured to process the data so make an actionable, predictable, and accurate decision/s in response to environmental changes sensed by the plurality of sensors, and   control an operation of at least one of the light source and the communications transceiver based on the actionable, predictable and accurate decision provided by the self learning module.   
     
     
         2 . The intelligent ceiling mounted lighting system of  claim 1 , wherein the processor has a unique address. 
     
     
         3 . The intelligent ceiling mounted lighting system of  claim 2 , wherein a location in a building space of the intelligent ceiling mounted lighting system is electronically mapped. 
     
     
         4 . The intelligent ceiling mounted lighting system of  claim 2 , wherein the intelligent ceiling mounted lighting system is self-commissioned. 
     
     
         5 . The intelligent ceiling mounted lighting system of  claim 1 , wherein at least one operation anomaly is communicated to a remote client by resident self reporting code. 
     
     
         6 . The intelligent ceiling mounted lighting system of  claim 1 , wherein the intelligent ceiling mounted lighting system operates as a stand alone and/or in unison with another remote device. 
     
     
         7 . The intelligent ceiling mounted lighting system of  claim 1 , wherein at least one power consuming device, other than the light source, is coupled to the processor, and the heat dissipating structure. 
     
     
         8 . An intelligent ceiling mounted lighting system comprising:
 a heat dissipating structure;   a light source that emits light to a room below, the light source being coupled to the heat dissipating structure;   a device housing that is coupled to the heat dissipating structure and includes therein electronic circuitry, the electronic circuitry in electrical communication with at least one electrical device coupled to the heat dissipating structure;   a non-transitory computer readable memory that holds computer readable code therein,   a communications transceiver that communicates with remote devices that are external to   the intelligent ceiling mounted lighting system, and   a processor that, upon execution of the computer readable code, is configured to collect data from a plurality of sensors,
 implement a self learning module that is trained from the data provided from the plurality of sensors, the self-learning module is configured to process the data collected and learned from input that includes behavioral analysis data, traffic pattern data, operational optimization data with real time input received from one or more of the plurality of sensors, so to make an actionable, predictable, and accurate decision in response to environmental changes, 
   and
 control an operation of at least one of the light source, a coupled input and/or output device other than the light source and the communications transceiver based on the actionable, predictable and accurate decision. 
   
     
     
         9 . The intelligent ceiling mounted lighting system of  claim 8 , wherein life safety and property protection data is obtained by at least one of, a camera, a smoke detector/air quality sensor, a thermostat, a backup battery/ups, a speaker/microphone and any other sensing device configured to protect life and property. 
     
     
         10 . The intelligent ceiling mounted lighting system of  claim 8 , wherein space utilization data is obtained by at least one of, a camera and an occupancy sensor. 
     
     
         11 . The intelligent ceiling mounted lighting system of  claim 8 , wherein building security data is obtained by at least one of, a camera, a microphone/speaker and backup power. 
     
     
         12 . The intelligent ceiling mounted lighting system of  claim 8 , wherein demographic data is obtained by at least a camera. 
     
     
         13 . The intelligent ceiling mounted lighting system of  claim 8 , wherein operational optimization data is obtained by at least one of, a camera, a device monitoring equipment, a microphone, and a thermostat. 
     
     
         14 . The intelligent ceiling mounted lighting system of  claim 8 , wherein occupant comfort data is obtained by at least one of a camera, a thermostat, speaker/microphone and air quality sensor. 
     
     
         15 . An intelligent ceiling mounted lighting system comprising:
 a heat dissipating structure;   a light source that emits light to a room below, the light source being coupled to the heat dissipating structure;   a device housing that is coupled to the heat dissipating structure and includes therein electronic circuitry, the electronic circuitry in electrical communication with at least one electrical device coupled to the heat dissipating structure;   a non-transitory computer readable memory that holds computer readable code therein,   a communications transceiver that communicates with remote devices that are external to the intelligent ceiling mounted lighting system,   and   a processor that, upon execution of the computer readable code, is configured to process data compiled through execution of at least one of self learning code,
 perform a process that evaluates image data from a camera, self reporting analysis code, pattern analysis code, another process that evaluates sound data from an audio sensor, operational system optimization code and inputs received from a plurality of sensors, 
 make an actionable, predictable, and accurate decision in response to environmental changes, 
   and
 control an operation of at least one of the light source and/or a coupled input and/or output device other than the light source, and in communication with other remote network device/s, control an operation of at least one other light source, the at least one other light source being a remotely located light source, and/or a coupled input and/or output device that is remotely located, the at least one other light source and the coupled input and/or output device being different than the light source. 
   
     
     
         16 . The intelligent ceiling mounted lighting system of  claim 15  is configured to communicate with, and/or control, at least a subcomponent of a controllable building apparatus, the controllable building apparatus being different than the intelligent ceiling mounted light system. 
     
     
         17 . The intelligent ceiling mounted lighting system of  claim 15 , further comprising at least one switch that controls a setting of an electrical device coupled to the lighting system. 
     
     
         18 . The intelligent ceiling mounted lighting system of  claim 15 , wherein light from the light source delineates a path of egress. 
     
     
         19 . The intelligent ceiling mounted lighting system of  claim 15 , wherein the processor is assigned an environmental control zone in a vicinity of the intelligent ceiling mounted lighting system. 
     
     
         20 . The intelligent ceiling mounted lighting system of  claim 15 , wherein the control code configures the processor during an emergency power event the to selectively prioritize power supplied to devices. 
     
     
         21 . The intelligent ceiling mounted lighting system of  claim 15 , further comprising another intelligent ceiling mounted lighting system that shares a space with the intelligent ceiling mounted lighting system and is controllable as a separate unit, or in controllable to operate in unison with the intelligent ceiling mounted lighting system.
