Systems and methods for creating enhanced documents for perfect automated parsing
Abstract
The disclosed enhanced document creation and parsing systems deal with enhanced documents that allow for the presentation of document content in a preferred visual manner, while ensuring that the document content can be captured accurately by an automated parser with nothing being discarded or misrepresented. The enhanced document creation system may create an enhanced document by encoding document content in accordance with a defined schema, optionally encrypting the resulting structured data into an encrypted byte string, and embedding the encrypted byte string as non-visible metadata in a rendered document. The resulting enhanced document can be completely and accurately parsed by an enhanced document parsing system that is capable of extracting, decrypting and decoding the embedded document metadata.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A method of creating an enhanced document, comprising:
receiving content associated with creating an initial document with a document creation platform, wherein the content is unstructured; generating the enhanced document from the content of the initial document that encodes the content in a structured form according to a defined schema based on semantic meaning of elements of the content; identifying executable code that, when executed, performs functionality associated with interacting with the enhanced document; and embedding the executable code in the enhanced document.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein identifying the executable code comprises identifying code configured to detect a change to the enhanced document outside the document creation platform and generates an alert message indicating that the change may result in imperfect parsing.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein identifying the executable code comprises identifying configured to prevent changes to the enhanced document.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein identifying the executable code comprises identifying code configured to:
detect a change to a visual appearance of the enhanced document; synchronizes the change with embedded content; and trigger generation of an updated enhanced document with the document creation platform that captures the change.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein identifying the executable code comprises identifying code configured to detect and generate a notification of a status of the enhanced document.
6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the status of the enhanced document is one of received, processed, approved, approved, or rejected.
7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein identifying the executable code comprises identifying code configured to request additional information from an author of the enhanced document.
8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein identifying the executable code comprises identifying code configured to schedule a meeting with an author of the enhanced document.
9 . An enhanced document creation system, comprising at least one processor coupled to at least one memory that includes instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the enhanced document creation system to:
receive content associated with creating an initial document with a document creation platform, wherein the content is unstructured; generate an enhanced document from the content of the initial document that encodes the content in a structured form according to a defined schema based on semantic meaning of elements of the content; identify executable code that, when executed, performs functionality associated with interacting with the enhanced document; and embed the executable code in the enhanced document.
10 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to cause the enhanced document creation system to detect a change to the enhanced document outside the enhanced document creation system and generates an alert message indicating that the change may result in imperfect parsing.
11 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the executable code prevents changes to the enhanced document.
12 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the executable code:
detects a change to a visual appearance of the enhanced document; synchronizes the change with embedded content; and triggers generation of an updated enhanced document with the document creation platform that captures the change.
13 . The system of claim 9 , wherein identifying the executable code comprises identifying code that detects and generates a notification of a status of the enhanced document.
14 . The system of claim 13 , wherein the status of the enhanced document is one of received, processed, approved, approved, or rejected.
15 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the executable code requests additional information from an author of the enhanced document.
16 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the executable code schedules a meeting with an author of the enhanced document.
17 . A method, comprising:
receiving content associated with creating an initial document with a document creation platform, wherein the content is unstructured; generating an enhanced document from the content of the initial document that encodes the content in a structured form according to a defined schema based on semantic meaning of elements of the content; and embedding executable code in the enhanced document that, when executed, supports enhanced document interactivity.
18 . The method of claim 17 , wherein embedding the executable code comprises embedding executable code configured to detect a change to the enhanced document outside the document creation platform and generate an alert message that indicates the change may result in imperfect parsing.
19 . The method of claim 17 , wherein embedding the executable code comprises embedding executable code configured to prevent changes to the enhanced document.
20 . The method of claim 17 , wherein embedding the executable code comprises embedding executable code is configured to at least one of detect and generate a notification of a status of the enhanced document, request additional information from an author of the enhanced document, or schedule a meeting with the author of the enhanced document.Cited by (0)
