Method of controlling camera device and electronic device thereof
Abstract
An electronic device and a method for controlling a camera device in the electronic device are provided. The electronic device includes a touch screen including at least one layer having a hole formed in the at least one layer, a camera configured to capture an image through the hole, the camera including a camera lens, and at least one processor configured to receive, via the touch screen, touch input on a portion of the touch screen, a contact area of the received touch input including at least a part of an area where the hole is formed, drive the camera and periodically obtain an image through the camera lens for determining whether pollution contaminates a surface of the touch screen over the camera lens, determine whether the pollution exists on the surface of the touch screen over the camera lens based on the obtained image, and display information on the pollution of the surface of the touch screen over the camera lens based on the determination of the pollution existing on the surface of the touch screen over the camera lens.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . An electronic device comprising:
a touch screen including at least one layer having a hole formed in the at least one layer; a camera configured to capture an image through the hole, the camera including a camera lens; and at least one processor configured to: receive, via the touch screen, touch input on a portion of the touch screen, a contact area of the received touch input including at least a part of an area where the hole is formed; drive the camera and periodically obtain an image through the camera lens for determining whether pollution contaminates a surface of the touch screen over the camera lens; determine whether the pollution exists on the surface of the touch screen over the camera lens based on the obtained image; and display information on the pollution of the surface of the touch screen over the camera lens based on the determination of the pollution existing on the surface of the touch screen over the camera lens.
2 . The electronic device of claim 1 ,
wherein the at least one layer comprises a first layer having the hole formed in the first layer and a second layer having a region corresponding to the hole and omitting pixel elements.
3 . The electronic device of claim 1 ,
wherein the at least one processor is further configured to detect a pollution level of the surface of the touch screen over the camera lens by using the obtained image based on an event for measuring the pollution level of the surface of the touch screen over the camera lens.
4 . The electronic device of claim 3 ,
wherein the event is generated periodically or at a time point when the camera is driven.
5 . The electronic device of claim 3 ,
wherein the at least one processor is further configured to detect the pollution level of the surface of the touch screen over the camera lens based on a definition of the obtained image.
6 . The electronic device of claim 3 ,
wherein the at least one processor is further configured to display the information on the pollution of the surface of the touch screen over the camera lens when the pollution level is greater than a reference level, the reference level being set as a reference value of a pollution level which can influence a quality of the obtained image.
7 . The electronic device of claim 1 ,
wherein the at least one processor is further configured to display the information on the pollution of the surface of the touch screen over the camera lens on the portion of the touch screen.
8 . The electronic device of claim 3 ,
wherein the at least one processor is further configured to display an amount of the pollution level of the surface of the touch screen over the camera lens.
9 . The electronic device of claim 8 ,
wherein the at least one processor is further configured to display the amount of the pollution level of the surface of the touch screen over the camera lens using a number of concentric circles based on the portion of the touch screen.
10 . The electronic device of claim 9 ,
wherein the at least one processor is further configured to set the number of concentric circles displayed on the portion of the touch screen based on the pollution level of the surface of the touch screen over the camera lens.
11 . A method of operating an electronic device comprising a camera including a camera lens and configured to capture an image through a hole formed in at least one layer of a touch screen, the method comprising:
receiving, via the touch screen, a touch input on a portion of the touch screen, a contact area of the received touch input including at least a part of an area where the hole is formed; driving the camera and periodically obtaining an image through the camera lens for determining whether pollution contaminates a surface of the touch screen over the camera lens; determining whether the pollution exists on the surface of the touch screen over the camera lens based on the obtained image; and displaying information on the pollution of the surface of the touch screen over the camera lens based on the determination of the pollution existing on the surface of the touch screen over the camera lens.
12 . The method of claim 11 ,
wherein the at least one layer comprises a first layer having the hole formed in the first layer and a second layer having a region corresponding to the hole and omitting pixel elements.
13 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising:
detecting a pollution level of the surface of the touch screen over the camera lens by using the obtained image based on an event for measuring the pollution level of the surface of the touch screen over the camera lens.
14 . The method of claim 13 ,
wherein the event is generated periodically or at a time point when the camera is driven.
15 . The method of claim 13 ,
wherein the pollution level of the surface of the touch screen over the camera lens is detected based on a definition of the obtained image.
16 . The method of claim 13 ,
wherein the information on the pollution of the surface of the touch screen over the camera lens is displayed when the pollution level is greater than a reference level, the reference level being set as a reference value of the pollution level which influences a quality of the obtained image.
17 . The method of claim 11 ,
wherein the information on the pollution of the surface of the touch screen over the camera lens is displayed on the portion of the touch screen.
18 . The method of claim 13 , further comprising:
displaying an amount of the pollution level of the surface of the touch screen over the camera lens.
19 . The method of claim 18 ,
wherein the amount of the pollution level of the surface of the touch screen over the camera lens is displayed using a number of concentric circles based on the portion of the touch screen.
20 . The method of claim 19 , further comprising:
setting the number of concentric circles displayed on the portion of the touch screen based on the pollution level of the surface of the touch screen over the camera lens.Cited by (0)
